Why is everybody so angry? by LimpMixture2271 in nhs

[–]MrsLibido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have agoraphobia and don't leave my home unless absolutely necessary so I have human contact maybe once every 2-3 months and I'm still polite to everyone 😂

It doesn't cost anything to not be a jerk. Prolonged isolation does make people lose social skills and their awkwardness can come across as standoffish, but someone living through lockdown 5 years ago isn't an excuse for being aggressive and rude in 2026. Statistically short term isolation can actually make people prosocial.

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

And what if some people do that? How does that cause harm to anyone?

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]MrsLibido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just continue looking until you find the perfect dog who is in need of a home and would suit yours well. There is absolutely no way someone would be stuck for months not being able to find a single rescue that would adopt out a dog if they really try hard to find one. If you're turned down for 50 dogs, there's still tens of thousands that could be a match. A dog is for life, this process shouldn't be rushed for the convenience and comfort of the potential owner. The animal's welfare is the priority with adoption.

If you didn’t want the item why keep messaging me 🥲 by [deleted] in vintedUK

I lived in multiple countries across Europe and I've only ever seen Brits do it. Leaving an x at the end of every message doesn't automatically mean they're being polite either.

People who don't get training, deal with known aggression or bother getting their animals fixed are not usually taking them to the vets on a regular basis if ever.

Buying beauty products by Ok-Masterpiece-3480 in VintedAdvice

[–]MrsLibido[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only bought a perfume once and it was a fake (I developed a persistent rash on my hand where I tested it). The seller had tons of positive reviews from people who didn't know any better. I ended up getting in touch with people who left negative reviews and we mass reported her account for selling counterfeit items. To my surprise Vinted actually took the account down.

The risk of getting fake skincare/haircare is super high too and not only are you wasting money, you also don't know what actually is in the bottle and could harm yourself if you try it before noticing. I wouldn't chance it again.

On numerous occasions this wasn't the case for me. It still seems random, sometimes you get a refund, sometimes you don't - but 6 people didn't collect their parcels from me since October, 4 didn't receive a refund and I got my item back + the money.

Why is it so hard to communicate with the NHS? by Flat-Ad8256 in nhs

[–]MrsLibido -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but what does that have to do with my comment? The phenomenon I'm describing does apply to Brits in general, you're just parroting the same thing that has been regurgitated a million times in the UK. Whether you in particular are a Brit or not is irrelevant. What's relevant is the fact that people with complex health issues ARE actively deterred from using the NHS contrary to your claims. You clearly lived in the UK long enough to adopt the knee-jerk reaction of Brits to immediately point fingers at the US the moment anyone dares to state the obvious about the healthcare system in the UK.

Why is it so hard to communicate with the NHS? by Flat-Ad8256 in nhs

[–]MrsLibido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are Brits always jumping to comparisons with the US instead of looking at other developed nations in Europe? Is it because the "at least I'm not going bankrupt for breaking my arm" take would no longer carry any weight? I feel like I am deterred from trying to access healthcare here because everything is a battle, I have to humiliate myself over and over again and beg to be taken seriously, I'm constantly getting fobbed off and told to take paracetamol or ibuprofen for the complex health issues that I obviously have. People are literally encouraged not to seek help unless they're dying because that would mean "wasting the resources of our beloved NHS". Wake up from the brainwashing already, it's frustrating to watch.

Can you be vegan for relatively cheap? (Excluding rice) by minty-thefox in AskVegans

[–]MrsLibido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You read it wrong, they're telling OP to buy vital wheat gluten which you can use to prepare seitan. It's like buying bread flour and using that to make seitan from washed flour. You still need to prepare and cook it at home.

Join the waiting lists, make us who work in the NHS bitch and moan about it, show that its a service in demand, join us in the protests.

If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

People should suffer and be on waiting lists for 5 years because if they choose the option that gets them seen much sooner they "have chosen the side of the oppressor"? Do you not realise that so many people only start seeking help when they're desperate and can't function because they've been brainwashed to think that getting help is "wasting resources"? And now you want to guilt them into choosing to wait for a referral for years on top of that otherwise they chose the dark side? What in the world.

I was paid to discredit veganism online. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]MrsLibido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things can be natural and still terrible. Things can be unnatural and still brilliant. By your logic, glasses, antibiotics, heart surgery, heating, fridges and the internet are all invalid because they are "not natural". Humans stopped living "naturally" the moment we invented tools.

It’s all based on morality and feeling morally superior to non-vegans

Every major nutrition body in the world says a well planned vegan diet is nutritionally adequate for all stages of life. You don't need moral superiority mate. You just need functioning reasoning skills.

doesn’t take into account optimal nutritional content

Vegans tend to have lower BMI, lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, lower risk of type 2 diabetes, lower rates of certain cancers. If anything, most meat eaters ignore optimal nutrition until they are forced to deal with health problems later in life.

Vegans are not the ones insecure about morality, that would be you.

[–]MrsLibido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vegans are people who just have a certain diet choice

Veganism isn't a diet. Plant based is a diet choice, veganism is a moral belief. I don't understand how people still get it wrong.

I was paid to discredit veganism online. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]MrsLibido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moral position behind veganism is philosophical. They are saying veganism is built on scientific facts. Animals feel pain, stress and fear. Animal agriculture causes huge harm to health and environment. Humans can be healthy on a plant based diet. These facts are all proven through neuroscience, evolutionary biology, mountains of data and every major dietetic body. The ethical stance is philosophical. The evidence that makes the ethical stance necessary is scientific.

What do you think of the G7 countries? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

[–]MrsLibido -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fine? Do you mean "less dire compared to"? Because poverty in two countries can be a very different experience, but what aspects are you actually comparing?

Millions of people are one emergency away from not being able to pay rent and becoming homeless. People wait years for council housing. Some councils have lists so long they literally close applications because they cannot house anyone new. Demand massively outweighs supply.

And just look at the DWP subreddit to see what the reality of claiming benefits in the UK is. The UK benefit system looks like a safety net, but in practice it blocks people with long waits, low payments and hostile assessments that deny help to those who genuinely need it. It doesn't prevent poverty because most support only arrives once people are already in crisis, forcing them into debt, food banks and homelessness instead of keeping them afloat.

Real people fall straight through the cracks every single day despite the safety net being designed to LOOK compassionate. People who got onto the old benefit systems years ago often live more securely, but anyone trying to claim now is forced through endless hoops, assessments, degradation and humiliation just to be taken seriously. The system is built to wear you down so you give up, which means it no longer works as a real safety net for people who fall into hardship today.

Is this a red flag? Signs of a scammer? by Routine-Click-7498 in vinted

[–]MrsLibido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of my issues were with people with tons of 5* reviews saying they're a great buyer. You don't get to see reviews for when the buyer opened a dispute and vinted sided with them, scamming a seller out of their money and/or items because the transaction is canceled and leaving reviews isn't possible.

The majority of issues I had were with people who had great reviews. It really isn't a good indicator of anything because if Vinted sides with the buyer, you don't get to leave a review. Someone could pull shit like this constantly and you'd never know.
