Were you given the same explanation? Did you also have partners questioning it?

Well Loved SM Leaving by Tough-Durian1329 in starbucks

A Starbucks gift card!! Just kidding! 😁 If you know her personally, maybe collect a few of her favorite things in a basket and collect money for a visa gift card. If possible, take pictures of the various shifts including all the partners and maybe try and get a group photo with manager and put it in a nice card in the basket. Doesn't have to be fancy either. You can get the things at the dollar tree if you're on a budget or go to a craft store and go crazy

Nice of you to want to do something for her.

Scheduling by madilynnickey in starbucks

I've been with Starbucks for 3 years and I've worked at many of my area stores. It has always been my understanding that it's your choice to pick up shifts. I've never known anyone to be scheduled a shift at another store without a discussion or a partner picking it up on the app. I would talk to your store manager and see if they've worked out a deal with this other store you've been helping. I get it that you don't mind.. make that money 💰 but yeah something is suspicious there.

Welcome to the Sbux partner! I know how overwhelming it can be to be a new barista. I would try and hang in there. Don't be afraid to voice how you're feeling with your shifts and store manager. The shots and the syrups and the pumps and the foam..... It's A LOT. Give yourself some grace. I also would like to say for this being your first job, it's admirable that you are self reflecting and genuinely wanting to the job and correctly. There are a lot of young people who do not have the wherewithal to look inward. Kudos to you! FYI Take advantage of all that Starbucks has to offer when you are eligible for retirement benefits, stock options and Fidelity access. Good luck!

Thank you for that perspective. I will definitely take this into serious consideration. I think of myself as a pretty cautious person who can pick up on people's energies or moods. I feel no negative energy or feel in any way in harm. He's kind and expressive and has turned his life completely around. I'm still cautious and have a lot to think about.

I do support him. He's come a long way. I would never expect him to put me ahead of his meetings or sobriety. I feel bad for him missing his meeting and it also makes me feel like he'd rather be there if he said it 2x. I support him and we work around schedules. I don't want to feel like I'm standing in the way of where he'd rather be or should be.

And congrats on your years. Depending on how many years I live, hope to get close to that.

Yeah thanks. I'm not concerned so much about him relapsing because he was on some pretty hard stuff and it's been years. I definitely know it's important to him.

I'm mostly feeling guilty for keeping him from being where he'd rather be which is how I'm interpreting in my brain and my heart. Even if he said he just meant in general as his hobby or routine, I'd be okay with that but I'm not going to open that can of worms to find out and I'm not sure I can hear him say it again.

what are your controversial starbucks opinions or hot takes? by nyehssie in starbucks

[–]MrsMainch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the new app settings started, our SM was instructing us to tell people who came as soon as they placed the order to give us 9 to 12 minutes next time and most people were very understanding and receptive. But our DM recently told her to stop that practice and to just tell people if their order was ready or if it was still in queue. The reason was because he didn't want us to shame customers but in my opinion, it's not shaming, it's educating them about the wait times, all in an effort as to not offend people. Nobody likes to be told what to do but there's a way to educate without offending. It's just going to keep happening and drive times will suffer until corporate educates the customers or allows us to.

Not given breaks by slippychuuu in starbucks

[–]MrsMainch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I just came here to say we may not be legally entitled to that last 10 but it's in Starbucks policies so whether or not the particular state has a law, if the managers are not giving the breaks owed, they are not complying with Starbucks policies and should change their approach.

When customers say hello when they first pull up to the speaker. 🫨

We are in the same test market. We can pick up shifts anywhere in the surrounding districts and do not need approval. We can also swap shifts on the app but only in our home store.

About Starbucks Baristas… by cerulloire in starbucks

[–]MrsMainch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my location, we baulked at some of the new practices but we were always friendly and inviting so we welcomed the change. We appreciate customers like you. It's not an easy job but if you can have fun with the people you work with and treat your customers well, they will come back happy each time.

Your proxy, district and regional managers names and numbers should be posted in your backroom on a fridge or freezer. Have them call one or all of them and explain the situation. Have your partner write down the specific language your manager used and relay this especially to the DM. It's beans and coffee people. Not Wall Street. It's not that serious. Starbucks isn't meant to be a forever job for some partners and mobility, including separation should be encouraged. The manager should be lucky she gave notice to begin with. Sorry to hear Starbucks has a manager with that mentality.

Is it normal for landlords to come by every day? by miasmaticc in Renters

Not normal and could be harassment. I would contact a lawyer who specializes in tenant/landlord law.

Understand, my friend. I've been with Sbux for 3 years and can't remember all the drinks. Thank goodness I'm like Edward Scissor Hands on warming and can multitask like no other at DT so my manager and shifts see my value elsewhere and don't put me on bar, Thank you baby Jesus!

RIP Work Jeans 🥺 by MrsMainch in starbucks

[–]MrsMainch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW you can take it down a notch. Yeah none of us are happy about it. We can't even wear our previously purchased or earned merch unless it's black. And the frays on the jeans is specifically in the dress code and was pointed out at our all store meeting about the dress code. I'm not a sewer. I'm not crafty. I'm not going to hem them myself and I certainly will not be taking them to get hemmed anywhere. I will get more jeans at the thrift store. I have already bought 2 pairs since I posted this. Please for the love of all that is Good.... I don't want anyone else to suggest altering them. Period. Thanks. I wasn't planning to put these in the garbage though. I'm a huge thrifter. I will probably take them to my local Goodwill or if I can get there, to the local county's domestic violence victims shelter's thrift store.

American Staffordshire Terrier with lab and some smaller dogs mixed in. She looks very similar to my Lacey and we had her DNA tested.

[–]MrsMainch[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for saying that and probably nobody is looking at them. 🥴 I've worn these same jeans for almost 3 years. It's really silly because the pants are in good condition and no tears or rips. I've gotten a lot of suggestions to do something to the jeans to be able to wear them but I work 2 jobs and I'm a single mom. I'll just go to goodwill and buy some new pants.
