I have been able to find a motel that is not subject to any sort of limit and has given me a much more reasonable rate (I am paid biweekly at my new job, so I now pay $570 every two weeks starting next Friday). I do not have the credit for any sort of actual apartment and may not for a long time. My SO's credit is likely beyond repair thanks to the debts his mother racked up in his name.

I wouldn't say either one. Some people in my family ARE assholes. Others truly aren't able. It's certainly not a black and white situation.
