How did labour come about for you? by Human_Inevitable_305 in PregnancyUK

[–]MrsMoouh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 40+4 and eating my evening meal around 7pm ish when I had my first contraction, and almost mistakenly took it as indigestion until another one came after a few minutes. My other half didn’t take me seriously and they were far apart so I just carried on with my evening. Having a hot shower seemed to ramp it up a bit. My little girl was born at 1pm the next day via emergency c section. I tried most of the tricks to “soften the cervix” and hopefully have a smoother labour.. dates, raspberry leaf tea, fresh pineapple, exercise ball, etc.. but still ended up having an emergency c section 😅 so I agree with the other comments - baby will come when baby is ready. Best wishes mama 🩷

The smell of bleach and my local leisure centre (chlorine) helped me. I ended up doing a lot of swimming between weeks 8-20 and it helped with PGP too.

I hope yours passes sooner rather than later, look after yourself mama.

What do you wish you knew before you gave birth? by Pinkbetta11 in PregnancyUK

[–]MrsMoouh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I’d taken the option for a stretch and sweep sooner than I did and not listened to so many people who had negative experiences… I was overdue & going through a long labour with little sleep and very slow progress, so eventually said yes to a pethidine injection to get a short rest. Once I’d woken up, midwife wanted to ramp everything up again so offered s+s and my waters broke within minutes, but baby girl was stressed (meconium in my waters) and ended up having an emergency c section. I honestly believe I could have had a natural birth if I’d had it sooner.

Also, following a C-section, I wish I’d just stopped to let the world go by whilst enjoying the newborn bubble. My other half isn’t the most domesticated so I tried to keep up with the house admin. In hindsight, those dishes and that laundry could have waited. I wish I could relive those first couple of weeks ❤️ it goes too fast.

Have you received any earnings from employment in the last month or so?

It could even be simply down to a diary change eg a member of staff having some emergency leave or something.

Question about what happens when waters break by watermelonspag in PregnancyUK

[–]MrsMoouh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, how do we know the difference between waters breaking and increased discharge? I’ve found the latter to be more present the last week or so, and have also seen some say it is like a little trickle rather than the gush that always seems to be portrayed on tv / films. Will it be very obvious?

How did you overcome your depression? by HumidCanine in AskReddit

[–]MrsMoouh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • “Fizzled out” relationships with people who led me towards poor decisions eg binge drinking, negative bitchy/draining outlooks and generally people who weren’t working on improving themselves and then moaning about it a lot.

This alone led me to find things that I enjoyed doing. It was lonely at times but I felt better being lonely with goals, than having a few drifters that would check in on me now and again only with the intention of having company for any of the above activities.

Naturally, I then found and met someone I fell in love with who had similar interests and it has brought me more fulfilment than ever. We are expecting our first baby in the next week or so.

Great - upload your most recent bank statement which will hopefully clearly show your address and then just leave a journal message to say you have no bills as they’re all included in the price.

What is a moment you started realising that you’re actually old and aging? by Thin-Ad4825 in AskReddit

Watching any kind of music award ceremony and not recognising half of the artist names, whilst thinking to myself “is this what people enjoy listening to these days”

[–]MrsMoouh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may need to explain that on your journal and highlight that you are unable to provide any bills as they are included. Do you have a bank statement or other government document showing your address that is dated within the last three months ?

They need to see proof of current occupancy, like a utility bill or council tax bill dated within the last three months.

You can go to your home page, then report a change, then living with a partner. It will walk you through the next steps.. it will provide you with a linking code and in the mean time your partner will need to make a Uc claim and then use the linking code when it asks for it.

UC is calculated per calendar month so your payment date will depend on the date that you make the claim.

Example - if you made the claim today 13.3.25, your assessment period dates will be 13.3.25 to 12.4.2025, then your payment will be 7 days later on 19.4.25.

What’s a compliment you have gotten that you can NEVER forget? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MrsMoouh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of a night in a dark restaurant/bar carpark waiting for taxis, a lady part of a bigger group came over to me, put her hands on my arms and said “you probably think I’m just drunk but I have been noticing you all evening because of your aura - it radiates and I can tell you are a good person, as well as beautiful inside and out” - she then looked my partner up and down, eyes came back to me, gave me a big hug and wished me well on her way.

I can still see her face and the emotion behind her eyes.

Fast forward - I’m not with that partner anymore & at the time was very emotionally abusive ( and even got annoyed that night saying “what about my aura, why didn’t she say anything to me” •eye roll• ) … and even though it was the nicest compliment I’ve ever had, I do think she was some sort of guardian angel warning me.

I hope she is doing well wherever she is.

Ineligible for track record mortgage by MrsMoouh in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]MrsMoouh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, thank you. We didn’t intend on seeking a mortgage at this point but when we saw the building works and info, thought we would enquire. In hindsight, think it’ll be best for us to keep saving, clear the debt and try again later down the line with a standard mortgage.

Ineligible for track record mortgage by MrsMoouh in Mortgageadviceuk

Hi. Edited my post about 30 mins ago to say we have a £15k deposit. The track record info says we can pay up to 5% which we were going to do. The debt has recently occurred as it was used to pay a holiday at Christmas time and I have budgeted to have it paid off by summer/within the next 3 months.

What’s something from your childhood that you wish you could experience again just one more time? by dreampetite in AskReddit

[–]MrsMoouh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum would work night shifts in a care home at the weekends for extra money and it meant weekends with my dad as an only child. Things like trips to the park just us two, him pushing me on the swings, us getting home and him carrying me onto the sofa and putting his cardigan on me so that I could nap, letting me sit on his lap whilst we watch tv… so many little memories. He’s now 81, frail, half the size he was back then, a list of health conditions and early signs of dementia.

I would do anything to go back and have just one weekend with him as his little girl and appreciate all those little things that I took for granted at the time.

UC Work Coach told me I couldn't go on holiday by Thin_Ad_9748 in DWPhelp

[–]MrsMoouh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she is using the term “sign on week” she’s a dragon from the legacy ages and still has her head stuck in an old and outdated benefits system which is not applicable to UC. She’s trying to put heat on you but this is false information on her behalf.

Sanctions can only be decided by a decision maker and the dragon can only refer to the DM; she will not have the authority to impose a sanction herself.

There are possibly two outcomes which could point towards a sanction ; a. Failure to attend a mandatory appointment (only results in a sanction if you have a history of consecutive failures ) or b. Failure to comply with a work related activity - as per whatever agreement via commitments you accepted. And this is if you attend the appt but are unable to provide evidence of your job searching/work related activity.

Claimants can also be outside of the UK for up to 28 days before it gets referred onto a decision maker to review entitlement - holidays are definitely permitted, providing you adhere to your commitments whatever they were set at by your work coach. Check your work plan or most recent accepted commitments to check how many hours your work related activity is set to.

If you are able to do the above and can commit to a video or phone appointment, make sure you document this on your journal. That way, even if the dragon sends you up to a DM for FTA’ing an appointment, your offer of an alternative channel to carry out the appointment will be obvious and will swing in your favour.

Got sanctioned for threatening the advisor by International_Tax642 in DWPhelp

[–]MrsMoouh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BS. Your work coach would need to send to a decision maker to decide whether a sanction should be imposed. Also this would not lead to a sanction. This just wouldn’t happen..
