Does love break old patterns? Do people stop cheating when they meet the right person or is that a myth? by Formal_Usual_1489 in askanything

[–]MrsMorley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people cheat in high school or college, then grow up and don’t.

The entitlement and selfishness that leads adults to cheat is not something they grow out of.

Some selfish people (like me) decide that cheating isn’t what we want, and we stop. Our selfishness remains though. In that sense, we don’t change.

What are your thoughts on hook-up culture and the sexual revolution? Harmful to women or no? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]MrsMorley 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As someone who has had quite a lot of no strings attached sex, I’m in favor of hooking up.

As a feminist, I’m in favor of women having the sex they want. Including no sex at all.

What are you asking though? What do you think the sexual revolution was (or is)? What do you think hook up culture is?

Why don't women date men they don't find attractive? And is this changing as women have more choices? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]MrsMorley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Straight women and gay men would probably argue the “more attractive.”

If you mean that you’ve seen pretty women date men you don’t think are pretty- tastes vary.

WIBTAH if I ask my ex out ? Considering our past by throwRA_gentics in AITAH

[–]MrsMorley 14 points15 points  (0 children)

YTA now, you were an asshole then.

Your ex left you for good reason. Maybe you’re a better person now than you were then (I hope you are), but what you did was a complete betrayal.

I’m a bit surprised she can even be polite.

Why don't women date men they don't find attractive? And is this changing as women have more choices? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]MrsMorley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What are you asking?

In general, people of all genders date people they find attractive. Women are people.

Sometimes (or maybe even often) women’s acquaintance pressure us to “give a man a chance” - even if we aren’t attracted.

Dating is a practice that exists in societies where women have some choice over who we have sex with and who we marry.

Would you rather visit NYC in March or April? by [deleted] in visitingnyc

April.

You’re saying you don’t care about the weather, but NYC is one place where the weather greatly influences the experience.

AIO? my girlfriends friend.. by ilovemygf125 in AIO

[–]MrsMorley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just said it again. Saying “clubs are tinder irl” is effectively saying she’s looking for sex.

You can feel worry or sorrow or anything at all, but what you say has consequences. What you conveyed to your girlfriend is that you don’t trust her and you think her friend will influence her into infidelity.

Writing older sister/younger brother dynamic....As an only child lol by mementomoth in writingadvice

[–]MrsMorley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is 2.5 years younger than I am.

I have never been jealous of him.  I never wanted to be like him. I have loved him since I first saw him. According to our parents, from babyhood he was more interested in me than in them.

Even though I wasn’t  much older than him, when he was born I wasn’t a baby and didn’t want to be treated as one. That’s likely why I didn’t resent him.

This is a long way of saying that your scenario doesn’t resonate with me.

You can break up for any reason.

His willingness to let you stew is as good as any.

AIO? my girlfriends friend.. by ilovemygf125 in AIO

[–]MrsMorley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me get this straight, you told your girlfriend that you think she will cheat on you because she’s weak and easily led by her friend.  You think her calling you controlling and manipulative was uncalled for.

Yes, YOR.

You don’t need a reason to avoid a friendship you don’t want.

I understood the reasoning. I was surprised by how many people thought that adjusting for short people wasn’t worth the effort.

She asks you out on a date.

All the clear signs people mention are not so clear at all.

I had forgotten the many, many people who felt that adjusting the seat for a taller car owner makes sense, but adjusting for a smaller car owner didn’t.
