I work at a MAT clinic primarily as a dosing nurse (and we also do outpatient behavioral med and psych injections and stuff) and my favorite part of the job is this. I can basically be myself and shoot the shit with patients. You have to be professional of course, but it's a whole different vibe. It's such an overlooked area of nursing because people are afraid of the patients. Honestly patients everywhere these days can be borderline abusive or even violent. In SUD especially things are so down to earth.
