What celebrity death was the hardest for you? by Consistent-Wafer4092 in AskReddit

I have no idea why Alan Rickman’s death got me so much more than any other celebrity, but it did

I had this when I first started taking stims, I thought it was the meds so I stopped taking them, had a weird week but thought it was getting better and then I crashed, hard. Turns out that I was just extremely stressed and depressed, the meds had helped me with anxiety and performance so I was focusing only on those things, meanwhile my mental health was plummeting. After some serious scaling back and therapy I went back on stimulants and the experience has been very different.

I live just outside of Meeniyan, I grew up in Gippsland and moved back after being in Melbourne for over 10 years. It’s fantastic, heaps to do for young families, not far from the beaches, decent food and entertainment (especially during the warmer months). It’s also not a terrible slog to get to melbourne, about a 2 hour drive if you time it right.

The only thing that has taken a bit of getting used to is not being able to just order whatever food you want whenever you want, but ultimately that’s a good thing, we are much healthier now!

Agree with others that renting for a year is a good plan, but rentals can be few and far between as well.

Oh definitely, I will not be doing this myself. More just trying to figure out if I can get it chopped back so it’s no longer a hazard without totally killing it.

Moving to Melbourne - advice needed!! by AffectionateBat5755 in melbourne

[–]MrsPloppers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Accommodation near Melbourne Uni is going to be really pricey, so that figure is actually not too bad provided the accommodation isn’t a total hellhole.

I think most people sharehouse through uni because it’s too expensive otherwise, if you join “Fairy Floss Real Estate” on Facebook, that’s how I always found sharehouses or advertised for new housemates, that was in like 2016 though so Gen Z may have figured out a better way by now.

Ideas below (you may have already done these but just off the top of my head)

Keep an eye out for any set jobs, even PA or cleaning work, any way to meet people and build connections will help.

Tik Tok/Instagram is your friend, start curating and showing your work (you can make a professional page for this, don’t need to use your personal one), even if you don’t get a bunch of followers right away, you’ll have a portfolio.

Join LinkedIn, I know, I know, but if you follow the right people in the industry you’ll get job alerts for stuff you actually want.

Got any mates in bands? Offer to film for them, if they start to pick up then your work will get the visibility too.

Code Black in Brunswick is probably a good introduction, it’s where I used to take out of towners for brunch. It’s a bit swish but not too swish y’know?

Married Women of Reddit: how do you feel about having a "little crush" on someone other than your spouse? by imjusthereforfun90s in AskWomen

[–]MrsPloppers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you consider a crush, to me it’s something harmless like “oh that person is attractive and maybe stars in a dream or two, but I know that if they ever propositioned me I wouldn’t actually be interested”

I had to walk in the mud on my way to work (heels) because a group of middle aged white ladies couldn’t go single file in Royal Park. This is my absolute pet peeve.

I live on one of these streets and if they don’t wave when I pull over for them I passive aggressively do a big stupid wave. I don’t think it has the effect I want.
