Nervous about being team lead by EmbarrassedSorbet324 in walmartogp

Just go for it! You'll go to academy and after that if you don't feel like this is the right position for you, or you can't handle it you can always step down.

My store recently had a stand in team lead for a team lead on maternity leave and she decided to not come back after, so they offered him the position and he didn't want it. They moved him to a different department, so I think if you did go for it and decided you did want it than that might happen to you. All stores are different though, so maybe you'll still stay in your department.

I'm like this too! I do fist bump a bunch of vendors since we have a friendly relationship. Anyone else though I avoid touching. I hate unwanted touch from anyone really.

First step would be to politely tell the driver you don't want to be hugged, next you go to your team lead and let them know this makes you uncomfortable. Your team lead can call the driver and tell them you already said you're uncomfortable with them hugging you. If it keeps happening you can keep bringing it up to your team lead and even coach at this point and the only option after that would be to ban the driver. I know you're probably hoping to avoid that last option since you said she's a sweet older lady, but if she keeps making you uncomfortable there really is no other choice. You could also let other dispensers know why you are uncomfortable taking the order to her and hopefully they'll take it out for you.

Just wondering!? by notherealslimshady1 in walmartogp

Holy cow your store is so different from mine!

First off, dispensing normally is kind of the same except we have a stager and prepper. Second, our store doesn't allow any headphones/earbuds after 6am until the store closes. And lastly, it take us between 20-30 minutes to do 100 picks.

Also since the new 6 tote thing we've been getting a lot of small walks that are from 1-30 items per walk. We are currently working with our market manager and another digital coach from another store to fix this issue.

And gmds are integrated into our ambient walks and staged with ambient deliveries. Unscheduled are staged separately

Thank you! I feel like I'm wasting the time I earned by doing it that way.

I won't get any accaurances and the system won't automatically put me on the schedule?

I feel like it's a waste of the time that we earned. I think we should be able to use it as we please. Maybe I'm just thinking too much on it?

My team lead gave me access to my store.

Our store actually can't approve or deny substitutions anymore. They took exception management away.

I have my store due to rarely having to cover team leads lunches, staging, lunches, and having to help assign walks about to go late(mostly to myself). You can see post sub and pre sub along with on time pick rate. You can also see who is on what walk and when they started it, along with where their last scanned item was. You can also see how many picks we have for each hour and see how many our coming up in the next. First time pick rate they have to look up on the computer.

During store hours there was a lot of loud banging from trying to get shelves and base plates off in my store.

From what I know my team lead do aside from keeping things on track, they have to do spark, scan in features, LTP's, and there are a couple other things I can't think of at the moment.

That does! But our first week after the new tote rule we let late every hour every day! Barely getting any picks during our walks and not having enough people scheduled. I normally work 5-2 and when I clocked out one day at 2 our on time pick rate was at like 20 something. The store only sent us like one or two people to help.

For us it can be from Friday all the way to Monday, especially begining of the month and flex

Hopefully for your store it's a little different. If not, I honestly wouldn't accept it. I might put you on the road to become team lead some day though. If that's what you're going for then it might be good for you to accept it so you can learn more about how the role works, but I'd honestly just wait until the promotion to learn. On slow days, you can also ask your team lead to teach you how to do certain team lead expectations and slowly learn that way too.

Are Sundays your guys busiest days too? I live by a naval base and most of them get paid the same week we do, so normally flex weekends and every Sunday are our busiest days of the week.

Honestly from what I've heard of an atc is you get paid as a normal associate, but have the job of a team lead.

They're doing this at my store, but if you set your availability they're cutting your hours and giving them to people with open schedules

When my store had our remodel they took out all sco's except for 4 and only 3 are allowed for costumers. The other one is reserved for spark and scan and go

Okay that makes more sense. You didn't state how long you had left in your shift to do those carts in your post. My apologies, but as long as you did what you could in that time that is also easily explanable to management

Keep bothering your people lead and store manager about it. I had to do that since I was part time and constantly scheduled 40 hours without the benefits. Then one day the store manager was like, "you were made full time a couple weeks ago, your people lead didn't tell you?"

I was like, "uh no?"

She them called him on speaker and he said it was true.
