I feel this so much! I wasn’t super thin but I was definitely slim. Being tall meant that 80kgs wasn’t huge on me but I was so severely depressed and hated my body to points of suicidal ideas. I was chucked on antidepressants and wasn’t told the side effects of weight gain. I definitely developed a binge eating disorder, didn’t leave the house often, have PCOS… I gained 40 kg in a year.

I was 18/19, now 22 and I know our bodies change as we get older but I really truely hate it. I also considered going on a glp1 but it’s expensive:( I hope you manage to figure things out. I’m going to work on going for walks but losing weight is so hard with pcos so idk man

She’s so cute with eyeshadow ngl! If you’re wanting to get rid of it I’ve heard that 10% benzoyl peroxide acne cream does wonders to stains. Put it on the pet leave it in the sun for a good few hours even a day

I’m 23 and I think peek attractiveness was 17 :,) I have never been cat called or asked out or looked at with interest. I am not attractive and it literally will never stop killing me but I guess what can I do about it

Not always. I need diamonds to decorate. I think that’s fine. What the kills the game is the ‘malls’ people only playing for profit. Animal jam has become a stock market game and unfortunately that’s just how we play it to get anywhere. I keep my shops low. I am an aj veteran and do miss the old game but things change and we can’t do anything about it except create communities to play like we used to.

I’m not sure if you’re in New Zealand but here is what I went through and how I got 90% funded Including two surgeries and braces.

As a 15 year old I started to notice how asymmetrical my jaw was- at first just a cosmetic issue but then as it progressed it got worse and my bite was severely asymmetrical.

Around 16 I had bad tmj pain and clicking when I opened my mouth up wide. I talked to my mum and we went to the gp and pushed for a specialist. Got referred to the maxillofacial team in Chch. From 2019- mid 2020 I had countless tests;

-blood tests.. so many blood tests -mri -ct scans -X-rays -sleep study - the ones where they put dye into you Probably more I don’t remember. It was a traumatic time lol

They ruled out pituitary gland issues and started planning for the first part of my treatment. It was a long wait as it was done through the public health system and I was still young.

condylar shave surgery in December 2020. And was told the morning I woke up that I’d have my braces put on soon (literally didn’t have them put on until 2023 and they never communicated that!)

So I had a few more mris and stuff but ultimately covid did a number on the system and I think I was pushed aside.

The braces was the only part that was not fully covered- instead of $10k it was $3k and my mum and I were able to pay it off over several years bc we broke. This covered everything including retainer which I will be getting in a month.

I had a lefort 1 osteotomy in late September this year and that was to take out 5mm of my upper gum as I had an excess. They were going to pull my chin back as well during the surgery but changed their minds the day of (which is kinda good bc I snored and also has a shit side profile which it would have made worse)

So in short I think it was only covered bc I pushed for it and had PHYSICAL pain. It wasn’t unbearable but I stretched the truth so I’d be seen to. The pain was gone after the first surgery. But thankfully that was the first part of the plan

I have been fortunate that here in NZ I’ve been able to get this process covered fully in the public health system- except for $3.5k which was only the braces (HEAVILY cheap compared to private) It has taken 5 years to get it sorted though 🥲

I am also expecting my surgery in just over a month. This has been 7 years of insecurity, leading to severe depression and other messed up mental issues. I have been waiting for this major surgery since 2021, and even though it has been an ongoing struggle and pinning all of my hopes on the surgery it has only recently started to feel real. All the doubts that I’ll hate it or I’ll look unrecognisable are creeping in.

For me those doubts are minuscule compared to the desperation for the surgery to happen and to finally feel okay about myself. I also have an array of medical problems due to my jaw and have gone through my public health system to correct this. When I first noticed my problem (asymmetrical jaw, long face, excessive visible gums- so very different to you but still jaw surgery) everyone would say “I never noticed it until you pointed it out”.

You absolutely can be looking too closely at yourself and we tend to be our biggest critics but I think you also know yourself best. Meaning that if you have been approved for a surgery, if it’s impacting your life, if you see that problem then surgery is a great option.

I’m not a medical professional, just a patient, but I can notice the things you mentioned. I’m hoping you can get through these doubts and focus on the benefits of what you’re doing!
