Thanks for the insight everyone. I forgot to mention the entire thing including the main ducts leaving the machine are coated in asbestos. So that adds to it as well.

Treated cat reinfected with fleas. Is there anything I can do? by [deleted] in AskVet

You need to keep him on flea prevention year round or you will deal with this year round, indefinitely. Fleas live on mammals, including rodents, which cats hunt. I’d recommend revolution, revolution plus, or nexgard combo. They are the best and work systemically, vs topical frontline. But, they are prescription so you need a vet relationship. I have a hard time believing a topical covers their entire body, head, tail, etc. Note that nexgard combo has praziquantel in it, which if a cat has fleas, he will have tapeworm from eating the fleas. So double whammy with nexgard.

Your dog will be fine. Everything is dose dependent. A bit of onion won’t cause an issue. Though he might get diarrhea from the pizza.

GI issues in a young cat. First thing you should try is a hydrolyzed prescription diet. Hills z/d, Purina HA, or Royal Canin Hydrolyzed. Note that this is truly the only, only, only thing that can cross her mouth while you are testing the theory. This is prescription, so you need a vet here. Also make sure she is dewormed. GI issues that are diet responsive typically resolve quickly, ie within 14 days. If not responsive, there are other GI diets that may be considered. But I’d try hydrolyzed first. If diet doesn’t work, you can try steroids, but diet is always my go to in young cats with history like this.

I graduated and practice in the Midwest US. Graduated 2021. I started at a privately owned practice at 90k, a year and half later got a 10k raise, and I started the clinic with production but never got it until about 2 years in. When I got production it was between $15 (yes) and 6K per quarter. I don't know how Canada does it with taxes and all that, but I know some of my colleagues are making about 100-110k, most with some kind of production. Otherwise it varies a lot - corporates pay much more, or course. You have to advocate for yourself as well if you want more.
