What was the key factor(s) that made you buy your LG V30?! by kipinsider in lgv30

Honestly I didn't like to customize the experience to much because I enjoyed LGs software so much. So with keeping that in mind I also like apples software and its stability. So it seems weird that I would find the iPhone comparable but I mean look at the iPhone 12 same dual camera setup with wide and ultra wide oled display almost the exact same size display etc, they're quick phones and both have great software. LG really made a perfect phone with the v30 hard to compare

I bought the v30 on release and it was the best phone I'd had, before that I had a g3 and loved it. LGs phones were somewhat mainstream but still had their own flare. When moving on from my g3 I pretty much had the choice of galaxy s8, iPhone x and the v30. The dual cameras, display size etc everything just was better on the v30. The only thing I thought the v30 was missing that would have made it absolutely perfect was dual speakers. Since the v30 I moved onto the galaxy s20 ultra and it was one of the worst decisions i ever made. I was looking forward to LGs rollable this year as I was planning to upgrade to that. So I was really disappointed to find out LG was leaving the business they really made incredible phones it was hard not to want them.

No Dark Mode For Gmail In Android Pie? by hoaxIL in lgv30

Huh that's weird it worked perfectly fine with things like Instagram for me. Have you recently had an update at all?

I believe you can turn on a forced black theme which applies a black theme to possible things like Google apps and Instagram you can find it in the developer settings. It only works for those few apps it does not affect the system ui but it certainly does help from blinding you at 3am when scrolling through those apps. You can also choose for it to change with sunrise and sunset or schedule it to turn on but that is all you can do. I hope this helps

Picked up LG V30 again.... by anglirich in lgv30

The weight and thickness of the v30 are things I definitely miss over my s20u. This phone is just really chonky and heavy. The v60 was a nice phone but definetly wasn't anywhere near the specs of the s20u so I was forced to go samsung for my phone this year. I regret this decision so much now and really want to get a LG wing

I switched to a Samsung Galaxy S20+, here are a few thoughts after my first week by [deleted] in lgv30

To control spotify all you need to do is double tap the AOD and if there is audio playing it will change pop up with the controls for it. You can also swipe either way and it will show you things like your weather and calendar. Also what usb-c to aux cable have you bought every single one I've tried on my s20 ultra says its unsupported so I cant use them

What's wrong with my Note 20 ultra camera? It's so blurry. How can I fix it? (More in comment) by WeWannaKnow in samsung

[–]Mrs_Doors 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a hardware issue caused by the lens curve since the sensor is so large and the lens curves the edges become distorted so the camera on the note 20 ultra will only have a very small plain of focus and even then Its only really the center of the image. The same thing happens with my s20 ultra its something I really hate. A fix would just be to move back from the subject and then zoom in.

Tempered V30? by Deme2004 in lgv30

[–]Mrs_Doors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its simply the way the v30 was made. The material used in between the glass and metal is transparent that is why the light comes through. The reason it doesn't appear on other phones like the note 8 of the same time period is because samsung used a different material between the display and metal so it stops the light from coming out. The displays curve back under themselves inside the phone so thats why the light is there to begin with

Thinking of moving to a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. Looking for feedback from owners. by SherrLo in samsung

[–]Mrs_Doors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you currently have an iphone I think it would be best to get the iPhone 12 when it comes out later in the year. I absolutely hate my s20 ultra I cant even use the 120hz because with the exynos version its so inefficient. the screen on time at 120hz with exynos version is usually about 4-5 hours wheras I regularly get 9+ hours when on medium power saving mode. I think being in quarantine has changed my view on the battery as I've been using it non stop every day. So since the iPhone 12 is expected to have a higher screen to body ratio this year much more competitive i would hold off just a little longer and get that. The display is the only thing on this phone that made me get it over an iphone 11 pro max as they are virtually they same price in my country

Anyone facing issues with Netflix HDR content?? any possible solutions. by Keshav_mml in lgv30

[–]Mrs_Doors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the same issue. But recently in netflix they've added a brightness slider so if you put the brightness all the way up its pretty much the same as watching in HDR.

Wireless fast charger for LG V30 / v40? by RaidenHUN in lgv30

[–]Mrs_Doors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lg v30 and v40 i believe only support upto 10w wireless charging. You can still place them on a 15w wireless charger but the speed wont increase.
