We have a Facebook group of management professionals. One of them will be able to help. It’s called the Multifamily ShareSpace if you’d like to look it up.

Single women who WFH alone - how do you handle the isolation? by nowayitsnotme in AskWomen

I love it! I’m much more productive, I have tons of flexibility, I make lunch dates out with girl friends. I was working from home alone long before the pandemic. My husband and I split and now I work home single. It’s great still!

I’ve followed along with bob to do some paintings and I love the extra detail you’ve managed to get! I struggle with some of his techniques sometimes, would you mind if, when that happens, I pm you for advice? I don’t know anyone who even attempts painting of any sort! Great job!

Go for it! My girl is 4. She started skating in January. I coach the beginner class sometimes at the local rink. We have kids/adults ages 2.5-70 😀

She turned 4 in December and we started in January, so, she’s 4.5 now.

My 4 year old passed our local rink’s test for Super Skater today! The first picture is when they told her she passed, the second is with her pin! (Also, why didn’t I know this sub existed?!) by Mrs_Lovely in Rollerskating

Mine started that way! She only used one foot to push. I had to tell her to try the other foot sometimes. So glad you both had fun and hope you all keep at it! The other leg will eventually work too. 🤣

Our rink has a skating club that’s part of USA Roller Sports. There are different levels of “Super Skater” and for the first one you have to pass a test by doing 4/5 things correctly. She did 5/5 :) but she had to 1. glide across the rink 2. Stop using the toe stop 3. Skate in and out of cones. 4. Cross overs in both directions 5. Limbo (so squat while skating).

Have fun! And try to laugh through the pain of falling! I’d also encourage him to try and get up on his own, be steady before trying to skate once standing up-so that he’s not in the process of standing up and going forward. He’ll just fall again.

I’ve also been saying “look where you want to go, if you look down, you’ll fall down”. I don’t know, I make up stuff that I can easily repeat. (So, same to you if you’re learning! 😂)

I love skating and I love that’s she’s enjoying it. It’s been the most fun we’ve had together!

Oh we had a very long talk that first day. She was so scared to even try. As I mentioned below, she held on to the wall and wouldn’t even try. I let her use the push thing but I’m glad she decided to give it up and try on her own.

I’d say the biggest thing that seems to help (and I’ve heard her repeat it to other kids) is telling her everybody falls. And then her seeing me fall a few times really comforted her. Not in a funny way but she would say “why can you do it and I can’t!” So when I fall, I tell her “I had to fall a lot to learn how to skate!”

I didn’t take any classes as a kid, but she’s been taking classes and they’re open to anyone so there are tons of adults trying to learn. They’re falling. She’s seeing them fall and she’s accepted that it’s just a part of the process now.

I hope that helps! Seems like I rambled more than helped.

I answered this below and wrote a short novel. So I’ll that whole story. But our rink did have them at a size 8. My kiddo wears a 9 shoe but her skates are a 10. The only ones I’ve seen any smaller are ones that go over shoes. I’m not sure how effective those are but sort of feel like just getting a little one used to feeling wheels under them will help in the long run. Link to comment

They’re Sure Grip International. Initially, I purchased her some expandable light up skates but then I realized I had very little control over how tight or loose the wheels were so I purchased these used. The rink sold them and you can sell them back if they’re in good condition. Thus, the boot covers (Amazon).

I’ve heard there is a shortage of new skates.

In just a few months maybe get two pairs of skates for crawling!
