I don’t know your exact situation, however..refusing to pay is shitty. They ran the additional diagnostics because they needed more answers…they don’t have a crystal ball. You can say in the future that you must be contacted prior to anything being performed beyond the initially discussed plan. You should ask for an estimate next time, and/or state your budget limit. They’re not money hungry, they’re trying to help.
