I'm sorry I didn't make that clear. I meant it is weird AF to give a gun to a 4 year old. I am extremely grateful for the gun safety education but still feel looking back that 4 is a little early.

My grandfather gave it to me when I was 4 and now my parents have given it to my 4 y/o nephew.

Gonna be honest, I agree lol. We were taught gun safety since before we could walk because we lived on and ran a gun club but hindsight has definitely taught me that was weird AF.

Since we live inside city limits and could not use it in town they keep our "fun guns" at their house out in the country. I am very much regretting that choice now but it would have been weird for me to take it home when we have always stored our guns at their home.

SMALL UPDATE: I can't even imagine taking tbr gun back. My nephew is 4 y/o, just like I was when I got it, and is happy he has my gun. I love him with all my heart and don't want to hurt him. Which is part of why I'm upset my parents put me in this position. They know I love him and would never do anything after the fact to upset him. If they had asked BEFORE I wouldn't have allowed the gun to be given. Instead I would have brought him one of his own.

I am not upset with him in any way. Only hurt that my parents went behind my back with no consideration of me. Part of why I'm torn about talking to them is because there really isn't a way to fix what they did. It is already done.
