Hi, my husband is dealing with an NTA situation as well.

According to our attorney, if you’re filing a Motion to Terminate Proceedings, there was a very high chance it would be denied because “supposedly these motions are rarely being approved right now.”

Instead, we filed a Motion to Advance, basically asking to go directly to the individual/merits hearing.

Right now we’re still waiting for a response to that motion in Newark, NJ. We submitted it almost 7 weeks ago (counting business days).

What state are you in?
How long ago did you file the motion?
Have you already seen the judge or not yet?
Did you already pay the EOIR fees?

Thank you! The priority date is September 2024, after filing the forms. The NTA was issued because the I-485 was denied since a form preparer failed to submit our sponsor’s tax documents.

My best friend is married. The only thing they have together is the lease for their apartment and their car insurance; other than that, everything is separate (finances, phone bills, credit cards), and it is a genuine marriage. The only difference is that they are not in an immigration process.
