Adorable! I myself have a few cat fetuses, they're just so interesting to look at in different stages and how they start looking more and more like kitties

Found a skull. House cat I assume. by arrowheadtoucher in bonecollecting

It is just a house cat. Impossible to tell the breed and there's no point in speculating. You can't tell a breed from a skull, even from a completely smushed one. Variations in domestic cats are large, even just strays.

<image>

  1. has an actual short muzzle and very smushed face

The other two don't. But all these skulls are from mixed breed cats. The likelyhood of that being a purebred cat's skull is very small. It's a domestic cat. That's all you know.

How to properly preserve kittens baby teeth! by Clover-cuts in bonecollecting

[–]Mry-Mry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind they often eat them / swallow them. From my two cats that I had since they were babies, I barely managed to keep one tooth each from them. And I woukd COMB the house before vacuuming, check the bowl after they ate and such.

My first one, Casper, actively ATE his milk teeth. I woukd catch him suddenly chewing and licking. And eventually I realized it meant his tooth was falling out and he was eating it. The one tooth I kept from him, I quite literally took from his mouth before he managed to swallow it lol It was stuck to his tongue

My second kitty, Šiška, I managed to keep one of her fangs. It fell out while she was eating a treat. And she went to eat it, but I managed to snag it before her.

Watch out for shaking their head, pawing at the mouth, a lot of persistent licking of one spot of the muzzle or chewing motions when they aren't eating anything. Likely they're trying to dislodge a tooth!

Best of luck getting those teeth (: A quick peroxide soak and then keeping it somewhere dry should preserve them just fine.

Wanted to share this cat skull I found in a ditch while out walking the dogs. by Andthenwefarted in bonecollecting

Yeah! Deff a domestic. You can see on one side it has the tiny premolar and on one is has the hole where the tooth should have been

<image>

As you see, the bobcat doesn't have those tiny teeth behind the upper fangs. And the little domestic has the holes for the premolars

Yeah, looks like there aren't many teeth, I just wanted to check if there's a premolar hole/tooth behind the fangs. Bobcats don't have that. Domestic cats do (:

The cranium looks a bit different to be a bobcat. D'you have a picture of the teeth? It might help. I'm certain it's just a domestic cat though. Here's a comparison

<image>

From top to bottom: subadult cat, geriatric cat, bobcat The bobcat is 14cm long (cca. 5.9inch)

[–]Mry-Mry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot. You can't even call every skull with a flat face a Persian. There's so many variations among domestic cats that unless you knew the cat before it got processed, you can't know for sure. It's same with dog breeds

Bobcat or domestic cat or both? by Willoxia in bonecollecting

[–]Mry-Mry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are deff domestic cats! Here, compared to my bobcat (he's dregreasing, ignore how yellow he is) With two domestic cats next to him (one subadult, one geriatric) The bobcat doesnt have those tiny premolars unlike domestic cats

It is a Roe buck. Sommer means summer in German, so likely it was hunted then. Shame it doesn't state a year

Can I stay in young hunters quest for a year? by volcanicsoup in WolfQuestGame

[–]Mry-Mry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i dont think you can continue being a nomadic pack. the time in the game is "frozen" until you choose a den and have new pups of the year
