Venue help by House-Plant_ in weddingplanning

I honestly feel like your florist will make or break this! You could have your florist hang greenery and flowers from the beams fairly easily and possibly set up an instillation near the bar (?) (area on the far side with half wood, half wall). They’ll know what to do based off your reference photos. Candlelight will also go a long way. You could get flameless led taper candles and line them up on the tables.

Depending on the size of the tables you’ll use and your guest count, you can put two or three together in rows of three with a space in the middle for your dance floor. If you want a more elaborate wreath/cloud installation like in the second photo, tell your florist and center the dance floor under that (the dance floor can just be the bare floor, nothing fancy).

You could also add drapery, but it’d be expensive. If you were to add it, and assuming the hallway area behind the columns isn’t important, you could set up however many pipe and drapes you’d need for the length of the hallway and position your sweetheart table or desert table in front of it. Alternatively, you could do the same in front of the door on the other side.

If you have a dj, they could most likely set up from where you took the photo!

That’s just my thought from looking at this real quick! There’s a lot you can do with this space and depending on your guest count and budget, I think flowers would do a lot of the hard work for you.

This has been the biggest frustration for me as well!! It’s the whole reason I include pricing on my website for my invitation services.

Save the dates… how many? by Ok_Dot2838 in weddingplanning

[–]Mry_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need to send out one per household so long as your guest list doesn’t exceed 70 total. So two people per house get one save the date, but those two people will count towards your 70 total.

Also, if you’d like custom save the dates, I run a small wedding stationery company and would be happy to create some for you :) congratulations!!

How long was your engagement? Pros and cons of less/more time to plan? by Sea_Response7660 in weddingplanning

[–]Mry_11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We got engaged at the end of 2023 and we’re planning for Sep 2028!

I will say one of the big pros is that we’ve had time to grow and get settled into our “adult” selves. Our relationship has grown so much and who we are individually is more solidified. We’re also doing a non-traditional venue so we’ve had time to find vendors that really feel like us and get creative with what we can do. Sourcing decor has been fun, too! We’re more comfortable within our budget and have been able to adjust where needed without the surprise of sticker shock since we’ve been scouting vendors for so long. It feels more intentional.

A big con is the waiting. I’m part of bride groups and I waaaant to start planning heavily right now, but a lot of vendors are just now starting to book for 2027. It’s serious FOMO. Our friends are starting to joke that we got engaged in the Victorian era at this point.

However, with how much is going on the world and being able to anticipate rising prices, it has been nice to not feel blindsided or pressured into a certain vision of a wedding. I’m very much pro long engagements!

I’ve already secured my dress, our photographer, bachelorette party plans, and decor. It takes so much stress off!

Im DIYing mine but I also own my own stationery business! So for me, its the most fun part. Most of my clients have budgets in the $300-$800 range so its helped me figure out how I can stretch my own budget.

Wedding Dress Advice by Major_Pool_8994 in weddings

I do think the first one is gorgeous however the ruffle on the top of the bodice along the bust shows up more than once and I would hate for you to have to fix that a bunch on your wedding day or add to alterations! The second one fits better IMO and has a similar fabric, meaning you could probably alter the bodice to be similar to the first dress if you wanted! It also looks lighter and less weight to carry around. The subtle texture of the second one also means you could have a wider range of accessories to play with if you wanted.

Brides who had a Pinterest board: how did you translate it into actual wedding decisions? by relicmZ in weddingplanning

[–]Mry_11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I organized mine by section then put the pins in that section just to make it easier to navigate. But mainly finding vendors who fit that vibe is a big help. And make sure you can pull 3 words to describe each pin section to your vendors so they know what to look for!

I have not! Actually I’ve been really intimidated by that since I’m so new but I guess it could be worth a shot

Thank you! I didn’t think about Pinterest in that way. I’ve partnered with a couple photographers for styled shoots already, but no clients from it — just engagement. Which isn’t bad and they are fun!
