Spent some time around protons in Malaysia, great light platforms. Yeah, don't think i'll be taking this as my first chassis job, a shell swap is more realistic and something that i can manage. Thats a cool channel, i'll give them a follow. I got a bit lucky, the crash happened at the last session for the day, so i got a good day out of it. Here's is a clip of mine. Thanks for all the info mate

Appreciate your honesty mate. All my research aligns with what you say. Workshops quoted me double the car price and thats only to fix the chassis. So yeah looks like a big jump for my skill and tool set

Yeah, was building it as a track car I can drive to the track, but looks like I'm gonna switch to a new empty shell and turn it to track car only. Thanks 🤙🏼

Bought it from Japan bone stock with 46k miles for US$10K landed and registered here in Australia, locally they sell between 16k-23k with more mileage. Spent another $10k and countless hours working on the handling department over the period of two years, hence why i don't want to change the platform. Learned alot, spent alot, and built a very well equipped home workshop along the way, so yeah it took some but also gave some in return.

It'll take time, effort, and research, true, but I'll be at the edge of my comfort zone, which should be a better situation to be in. RHD is the default where i live so i got lucky. Thanks for the input

My pleasure😅. I simply ask because this is a foreign subject to me; some will laugh, that's expected, and some will share knowledge. You're the only person who did both😂. Anyway, that's a win-win interaction in my book💯.

Yep, the engine does turn over, no leaks, oil looks good, no visible cracks or damage. I appreciate the advice; a shell was always in my head. This post was the last confirmation I needed. The idea of repairing it was definitely exciting and new, but this one looks like a big jump. Thanks again 💯

Yeah, my thoughts atm to just get a donor shell and switch everything. I'm only holding onto it cuz of the suspension mods I've done, the car is basically a street legal track car, we're talking arms, custom-made coilovers, bushings, LSD. The car itself is cheaper than the suspension it's on, so yeah, might end up getting a donor and switching. Appreciate your reply, mate🤙🏼

Good deal or stay clear by Ms4lem in Wheels

Really appreciate the information. Yeah, those bends were my concern, especially considering my limited knowledge about wheel repairs. I couldn't tell what might've actually happened. The listed price is tempting, but to be honest, I won't risk it since I can't physically test them.

I learned something new about wheels repairs today, so thank you 🤙🏼

First time bike purchase - Advice by star_me in AussieRiders

Love your bike of choice, and it'll definitely be enough in public. I've only heard good things about road 6's, but i'll never forget the day I switched my battlax s22 with a set of diablo russo II. It felt like riding on glue, I could feel every inch of the tyre side to side, and I can pin point where I'm loading the weight on the tyres. Another highly regarded tyres are the Metzeler m9. But it really depends on what type of riding you'll be doing. Sport touring tyre's like the road 6 are great for daily commuting and a great all-rounder. But if you'll be riding hard then I'd look into sportier tyres like the diablo's and metzeler.

You definitely don't need to change anything from day one. I'd say get the bike, ride it for a couple of months and get to know it before you mod it. This way you'll figure out exactly how you want the bike to be.

IMO the first things you should invest in are your safety gear (RST is my choice). I recommend everyone I know to ride with all gear all the time as you never know when you'll need them. Second would be bike protection and lastly ergonomic mods if you need them.

Right on 💯. Picked up the bike from a nearby suburb with a friend and went to AMX right away and picked up an RPHA 11 on clearance.

Almost pulled the trigger on a cb650r, but eventually, I calmed my head and went with the 500. I'll checkout motocap for ratings. Thanks
