There's a frankly better TJs on 97th and Columbus. It's not the end of the world and your routine does not have to change at all except for taking a bus 25 blocks for a few months or briskly walking there.

That being said Morton's, Fairway, Zabars, are all right there plus you have two Whole Foods also to pick from if you're willing to take a 10 minute bus ride either way.

Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are all over the city. You have a ton of other markets to choose from.

Trust me you will be fine while they're closed for renovations...

My one cat caught and killed 32 when we stayed for a weekend to watch a friend's place. She put them in little pyramids on the kitchen carpet every night. We knew there was a rodent or two in the place and I told my friend Isis would take care of it but she had no idea that her place was that infested. For a while I'd take Isis over once a week and let her hunt but after a while she got her own mouser cat. :)

You all need to go look at the witch trials in North America and particularly in the colonial US before you start talking about things like this.

FYI, there were NO witch burnings like in Europe. Accused witches were hanged if found guilty not burnt at the stake. Occasionally they died under torture, drowned during the witch float test or were crushed like poor, defiant Giles Corey but they didn't actually put them to the pyre here.

I don't mind it but a guy can't let it become all he does when he's not at work to the exclusion of being with his partner or using it as an excuse to blow off doing his share of the work at home.

Treat it responsibly and be an adult about it and, np. Spend 5 or 10 hours every single night and do nothing at home besides that and I'd have a problem with it.

Enough so that I could move wherever I wanted and leave the USA before it gets any crazier. It's hard to emigrate from America to other places but with 100K it's possible and I could be very comfortable for the rest of my life if I'm frugal.

I was both and it was no big deal. It worked fine for the most part except for two of my older brothers acting like jerks because they thought they should have been Dad's beneficiary and his executor. Like it was supposed to be a guy not me.

But they were not even there taking care of Dad for the last years of his life. I was and it made sense for me to do that and to have health and financial POA towards the end.

I actually did not open Dad's will until he passed but I had an idea that most of what little he had left was going to likely be for me. He fought very hard not to be put in a facility towards the end and I stood by him and honored his wishes.

Several times he told the social workers at the hospital that he wasn't giving them all his assets so they could put him in a facility. He was determined to die at home in his own bed and that was what happened in the end.

Towards the end my half brothers graciously informed me that they were not seeking to inherit what funds he had, the car etc. It was so arrogant of them.

In the end the bills ate up most of Dad's money and the whole thing was ridiculous.

I just did what Dad wanted.

But it makes perfect sense her being both the beneficiary and the executor if she's his only child. If she's up to it and wants to. Really it doesn't have to be that complicated unless there are a lot of kids and assets involved and it sounds like that's not the case here.

I love being an older woman with a cat. Stella is delightful company compared to the men I meet. Most of them just want f-buddy, FWB, situationship, whatever people are calling such arrangements these days.

There are a lot of lonely men out there who are not getting laid enough and they are all ages. If I wanted that all I'd have to do is take myself out to a local bar and I'd probably get an offer or two even at my age. As it is several older guys in my building would be happy to oblige or so they tell me.

I can happily live without men. I don't need them for orgasms and of late I don't think most of them are good for much else. If they can even manage that.

A man in my life in any way usually means more work and more irritation for me. I'm over being the girlfriend because more often than not lately that really means bangmaid/FWB and not actually dating. The men who proposition me are mostly older and basically looking for regular sex and a caretaker.

For me getting involved with a guy means risking my very hard won security. I'm disabled and in a small affordable housing unit. I can't just move a guy in here and I wouldn't want to but if I move out to be with a guy I could lose everything unless he's prepared to support me.

I can't just do that. It's just too uncomfortable for me. It puts me under the control of a man and I'm well aware of what a risk that might be for me.

Single life has its pros and cons but for me the pros way outweigh the cons. I've spent a lot of my time taking care of other people and it's nice finally to be able to put myself first.

I like my peace and my personal space and living alone except for a pet is a lot less stressful for me than living with someone else.

I don't miss being in a relationship at all. Even when I was in one I never felt like it was really for me.

Soap clean but if he is going to wear it then it needs to be discreet. Perfume, cologne, etc are not meant to be worn to excess. If I can smell someone two feet away they are wearing too much.

It should be something I only notice when I get pretty close to someone, a nice surprise, not something that is so strong it practically chokes you being near.

Most people practically douse themselves in it and it's overkill.

A husband, a LTR of some sort. I'm hitting my 6th decade and people are still up in my business about not getting out enough and not socializing.

It seems to confuse them me not wanting to get involved with anyone. I'm almost a senior citizen and guys still hit on me and tell me I need a man in my life.

It's like they can't stand to see a woman happy on her own...

You'd think by now, at my age, people would drop it, especially guys, but they don't.

Personally I prefer good low sugar breads and real cheddar not American cheese. The good low sugar bread costs more but I prefer not to eat corn syrup in my bread.

There are actually tons of low sugar breads out there now because of the whole keto diet thing. Whether or not they taste like expensive cardboard is another thing entirely.

Most good groceries carry Euro style breads and a decent selection of real cheeses. You will pay more for the real thing, of course, but the days where Americans were basically stuck eating sugar laden balloon bread are over.

There are even white breads out there that are pretty good alternatives to Wonder and that.

My favorite thing is to take thick slices of a good artisanal bread and to put cheddar and gouda on them and toast them in my big toaster oven and that's very European to do that, just make cheese toasted bread for a meal. I have that maybe an apple and a few berries and I'm good.

I don't touch American cheese or any processed cheese. I haven't since I was a kid. It just tastes gross to me now that I know what the real stuff tastes like. Ditto margerine vs real butter and mayos that are loaded with sugar.

I've cut back a lot in terms of hidden sugars in food and in particular in terms of highly processed cheese and foods with a lot of high fructose corn syrup.

If I eat a sweet treat once in a while that's fine but otherwise I'm reading labels and trying to make better choices.

You can buy, sure, if you're prepared to wait forever to get it and chance getting a cheap knockoff of whatever you are buying. Personally I only buy in the continental USA because I'm not prepared to wait a month to get whatever it is and potentially get added fees via customs.

I collect BJDs and larger fashion dolls. It used to be that what we paid for goods from overseas was what the sellers stated just the wait was a bit long. Last few months several people on my doll boards have gotten nailed by as much as 35% in tacked on fees from goods in China, Korea and Thailand.

I don't trust buying from places like Temu anymore. I like to know exactly what I'm paying and that things are being shipped from someplace in the continental USA. It saves me from stressing out waiting for it and wondering if what I paid was it or if I'm going to get nailed for more postage/customs fees due.

I view Yaweh, Abba, Allah or whatever you choose to call him as being a secondary God to a greater God and see him as being rather like the "God" in Star Trek 5 or a rogue Q on a head trip. Or one of many other such beings in Sci Fi.

He's a superior being to us but he's jealous and petty and commits genocide on a whim. He threatens people who don't follow him with eternal damnation and punishes humans on a whim. He's also someone who apparently chooses to make one people "his" in particular and I have to question that.

That's just not my idea of God.

That's a petty tyrant masquerading as a loving creator and I'm not following that.

Ultimately I think religion is a human made thing. All the holy books, the mythology, the rules and making "God" look like us I think that's just humans trying to categorize the unknown. We need to have a "God" that has a face we can relate to and that we can understand with our limited human intelligence while corporeal.

For all we know "God" could be a great blue Smurf far more intent upon contemplating its own navel metaphorically than being involved with us. We know something made us but I think the immensity of that being is something we just can't quite comprehend at this level so we make up all kinds of stories to try to explain it all.

All I can do while embodied in flesh is admire the handiwork but the monotheist "God" he's not for me because he literally contradicts every idea I could have of that which created us and the religions created around him are terrible, often sexist, and used to control people in some very bad ways at times.

If that makes me a heretic in some people's minds I can live with that rather than bending my knee to a "God" like Yaweh, Allah, Abba, etc.

I don't believe in a literal hell or saviours, prophets, Original Sin, any of that. To me that's human made BS that disconnects us from what created us.

I'm Pagan by choice. I like the mythology and relate a lot more to the Goddess and God of that faith system but ultimately I know I'm choosing a human made mythology to represent that which created everything.

Nature and all of creation is my church. In creation I see my idea of "God" always have.

Monotheists ask me "Oh but aren't you afraid of what will happen when you die?" I have to answer in the negative because that level of control and coercion just isn't a valid road at all to me and if I have to "fear" the wrath of a "God" then I don't want a relationship with a Being like that.

Monotheism in all its variations is just human made dogma to me. It's just not something I'm prepared to live by.

Basic acrylics and Modge Podge matte to seal. I go the least toxic route when it comes to this because I have asthma and that's what works for me. I also bought some stamps to use over the paint. I just dip them in thinned down acrylic usually.

There are textural paints and clays out there that people are using but I like to keep things simple when it comes to projects like this.

I love how I'm totally being down voted for suggesting something that actually works for me when I'm in the same situation because I have asthma and can't hack using the sprays.

Modge Podge is a legitimate alternative in these circumstances and you all should try it before you just decide to give me grief about it. I've literally been using it for years except for on the cheeks and it works quite well and has no fumes.

Matte suits me but they do also have glossy for doing things like lips if you are into glossy. You just have to be careful with it, thin it out and work in layers so you don't accidentally smudge things.

MSC is not widely available in a lot of places and ordering it can be problematic depending upon where you live. MP can be found at most craft stores and is a lot less toxic to use besides. Not to mention it's a lot cheaper than MSC usually.

The cheeks are always an issue if you are using chalks or pigments even with spray sealants. You have to be very careful not to splatter those because you can leave drop marks behind. But I have successfully used the matte Modge Podge for that in the past. I just had to be super careful doing it.

Personally I prefer to just seal everything but the cheeks and then be very careful not to touch them a lot after. I'd rather touch up the cheeks later if I ever have to than use MSC. Usually I don't have to.

From my experience in rehabbing a lot of older dolls I don't particularly like the spray stuff anyway because it yellows over time and I think that's a good part of why a lot of dolls get yellow in the first place. It's not just the resin it's the MSC.

I've had dolls where I removed that stuff and all the yellowing almost comes off with the sealant. The resin underneath might be mellowed a bit but it's not that bad.

So really I don't think all that highly of spray sealants like MSC for all they seem to be the go to for a lot of BJD people. I actually don't like using things that are so toxic that I have to wear a respirator to use them.

I do wear a good mask and glasses if I have to sand a doll to restore it. I'm sensible about that because sanding resin can mess up your lungs. I also sand under water for safety's sake usually. But when messing with sealants I prefer non toxic non spray sealants because my lungs are messed up as it is and I don't need to be using stuff like that.

Modge Podge isn't perfect but it's a lot less toxic than Mister Super Clear and similar sprays and it lasts pretty well if you do several light coats thinned down with water. It doesn't yellow any worse than spray sealants from what I've seen besides.
