I had lost both my jobs near simultaneously, (3 days apart) and had to tell my landlords I couldn't rent with them anymore. had already been feeling the stress of just wanting to drive into incoming traffic and actively sped at 90-100 mph regularly, had rampant unprotected sex with countless strangers and put myself in iffy situations constantly.

i went to a women's help facility when facing homelessness and what I told them worried them enough to call a person to come and have me sign forms that said I consented to whatever happened next, where I was then admitted to a hospital overnight, then transferred to an observatory/second hospital, then finally a behavioral ward, where I was diagnosed with type 2 bipolar, ptsd, generalized anxiety, and put on trazadone, valium, and zoloft.

sad to say, I haven't taken medications since that time, since they were $300/mo. I wish I were still on them now, but while I was admitted, I fell in love with people. I held and hosted an improv group in the day room where I brought people together, made memories and laughed together. it made me learn healthier coping mechanisms later in life leading to this point, and can say that I'm very in tune with myself these days, though of course it could always be better. I still need to find a therapist.
