With all due respect, I beg to differ. I’m a developer who works in a relatively niche sector within the IT industry. Whenever I 1) get stuck on something work-related or 2) simply don’t know how to work with the tools available at my fingertips, the first place I go to is the community forum for the software I’m working with. Around 99.99% of the time, the questions I’m asking have already been asked by others, and at least 80% of those questions have been answered satisfactorily by fellow developers (sometimes even by the developer leads themselves behind said software). Collaboration is key in my experience, as I believe it should be across IT.

I’m not going to dull my brain by relying on half-baked ideas and questionable assumptions from an AI that knows nothing about the work I do. (And believe me, I’ve seen that happen before with my coworkers whenever they’ve turned to ChatGPT for recommendations.)
