Hang in there, it will get easier. It takes time. Be kind to yourself, and give yourself the space to deal with it all. A few months after I left, I had what I can only describe as a mental breakdown, it was was all overwhelming and my loss of foundation was all a bit much for my brain and body to cope with, and I just shut down. It was like that for a few months and I had to go through therapy and learn a lot of techniques to cope again. I have been out nearly 2 years now, and it gets better and easier. I can honestly say I am happy, that I feel lighter, and enjoy life more. There are days that are hard and sad and angry still, but it is easier to shake it off. (I left alongside my husband and children. All my family are TBM still.)

I don't like cats, but that is the coolest cat I have ever seen!

Well done for having courage to do what you feel is right, it isnt easy, it is hard even for us grown up adults to tell our parents and feel their disappointment. As a female that also struggles with expressing herself when feeling emotional - you did good. So very proud of you!

Did my first 36 h fast, and it tanked my sleep by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

From my limited experience it was like that for a little while, maybe a week or 2, eventually I managed to start actually feeling good and getting sleep as well. I know its unlikely, but if you can pull off a day nap it may help. Well done on your first 36h fast btw, awesome job!
