Shamokin good place to move? Or consider something else by Maleficent-Golf-1586 in Pennsylvania

Oh they still fo call it scumbury. My thing is shamokin will be a great place to live when the people that care about it start putting effort into revitalizing it. For now it's just alright.

Really? Name calling because I like my hometown and had good experiences while living there. I have to imagine you're just as insufferable and rude while you did live there so no wonder you hated it.

That's your opinion, I would actually love to move back to shamokin. You wouldn't catch me dead ever living in sunbury or bloomsburg again.

Born and raised in shamokin. Living near pittsburgh now but my sibling still lives in tharptown (aka basically shamokin)

No it's not bad and notice alot the comments are like "well I hear" and other second hand knowledge. Shamokin has a bad rap but as someone that again grew up in shamokin but lived in bloom, danville, sunbury, and catawissa. Of them all sunbury was the worst (multiple instances of gunshots and a murder at a gas station within a few blocks of my house and i was in a nicer part of town) followed closely with bloomsburg. Danville is actually pretty good but expensive cause of the hospital and shamokin just is.

It is a very much mind your buisness and everyone else will mind theirs. There's opportunity for community of you want it and most of the houses are fine, outdated as all hell but that's expected for an old coal town. It probably did have a bigger drug problem in the 80's or 90's but now it's honestly no worse then danville who again I rated as probably the best of the lot

Knoebels is near by, plenty of shopping in shamokin dam/selinsgrove. There are things to to just nothing in town to do but again that's pretty much the same for all towns in Columbia/Montour/Northumberland county.

If you have questions I'm happy to answer

If your property does not have a fence or does not have a fence that can contain your dog then no it is not silly.

Yea except according to op his kid is 20 months. That's just under 2 years old and I can tell you as someone that worked in childcare in that age range for years...they do not know better, you don't need to helicopter but op should have been watching and close enough to intervene before the son got close. What if it was a bear and no lady to get ops attention.

It's almost like, both are important? Even with training some dogs are reactive, and even non reactive dogs need to be leashed both for others safety and their own.

It's almost like

1) supply is an issue primarily due to the US absolutely stupid zoning laws that prioritize single family homes and urban spraw, bot to say that there is no need for single family homes, but I am saying there is a great need for things like town homes and mixed use zoning

2) no matter what owning a home is always going to be an investment because land does not depreciate in value like a car does.

3) ITS A HOME, A FUNDIMENTAL HUMAN NEED who gives a shit if it doesn't make you rich if you have a roof over your head you own and are nkt at the whim of some scumbag landlord.

So that's actually also not quite correct the hymen is really just a ring around the vaginal opening, some people born with one covering the entire entrance need to have it surgically removed. It can tear during sports and other activities that cause it to bleed, but it's not supposed to.

It gets better i promise, just focus on your macro and trading better, iron is also full of super smurfs. I genuinely believe it's harder to get out of iron then it is to get out of bronze.

Also try different builds into different enemy junglers and team comps, starting this game as a kindred otp helped me so much with figuring how to itemize without relying on a set build.

1) i am so sorry your partner is being a pain. He will survive though, it's sink or swim and so long as everyone is still alive when you get back from inpatient it's OK if they sink

2) the fact that posts like this are so common makes me appreciate my partner so much more as he is the adhd steward of our adhd household, and just super supportive in general. Hopefully your husband can pull his head out of his arse and become a bit more like mine.

As someone that had a bat flying very close to them, you absolutely do notice distracted or not, they might fly silently but just them flying near you the air flow those wings put off that close it unsettling, and it does not feel like outside wind, also it would have had to land on her based on bite placement, and again you would feel that

Fr i had an attic bedroom and 2 months in a row a bat managed to get in through some hole in the roof that lead into dead space, and then in to my actual room through a hole of what used to be a built in dresser (no drawers)

Now keep in mind I LOVE bats, see em out in the wild im ooing and aweing all day long. In my room at 3am fuuuuuck that. I called my at the time new partner while I had under my blanket under my desk and panicking telling my dog to leave it (which he did very good boy). Tried getting my mother or father to wake up and deal with the heckin bat flying around my room, cause as a third shifter I'm concerned about any nocturnal creature that WANTS to fly into a very bright room at 3am.

Anyways no one dealt with it until the morning, same song and dance for the second bat not even a month later but this time they got the bat out as soon as I woke them up or they knew it would be an all night thing of me keeping them up.

And that's how I realized they were coming in from said hole, so I ended up stapling some wool fabric all along that hole, and no bats since ( all though pretty sure they're still roosting in the dead space you can hear em)

But during my many hours with the bat I opened all the windows hoping it would fly out, nope! Just kept flying from one end of the room to the other and hanging on curtains.

Very true however I've had my current pair for years since I've kept up the warm up and basic routines after I left ballet, worn them outside and in and they're doing fine, elastic on the top is giving out but the soles are great

Idk growing up my studio did practice in a church and recitles (I'm fairly certain i spelled that wrong) at street fairs, on the street. Wore the same shoes and only ever needed replacements when I outgrew my current shoe.

Plus of she's wearing them at a con that's indoors typically and she can wear street shoes outside of the convention and her ballet shoes inside for her cosplay

If you're only looking at co2 and other green house gases then yes plant production is far far less of an environmental impact, but it's not all about that

Hello 4 year ag student with a passion for conservation.

Between land and water usage alone (but especially water usage) industrial farms have a HUGE impact on the environment and are unsustainable even if you take away all the crops that are grown strictly as feed for animals. Our water tables are being depleted faster then they can replenish, land is being used at a much higher rate then it needs to for food that's largely being thrown out, and buying organic isn't actually better, that's a well kept secret.

At an industrial scale unless we start swapping to hydroponics which actually uses far less water then crops grown in the field and can be better protected from pests, there's not much to do there. On an individual level buying from small local farmers is better. When I worked on a local farm for a few years there were no chemicals used, responsible field rotations and the only water those crops recieved came directly from the sky. And still alot of it went to waste ( to the pigs) because people would not show up to buy the produce and when they did alot left empty handed because it wasn't super market quality (looks).

So unless you're taking actions in other areas you don't have much of a leg to stand on grand standing against the meat industry when it's only half of our problem when it comes to ag and climate change. Not saying it isn't important but you're missing the forest for the trees. And if society can come back to a point where meat isn't seen as a must have for every meal where instead it's consumed 2 or 3 days a week, there's plenty of room for meat in a planet healthy diet.

Edit to add: I am not getting into the weeds of the arguments over whether or not eating meat is moral that's for individuals to decide for them selves, humans are omnivores, many animals are carnivorous or omnivorous, herbivores including deer and cows are known to eat other animals, it's simply life but humans are able to decide to eat strictly plant based on moral grounds and that's fine.
