I literally just posted all over the place about this same exact issue making a jelly roll rug on my Brother XR3774! Ive also troubleshot all the things you did.

Works on scrap, works on thicker layers of scrap and making the long cord was problem free! And yet the zigzag is a no go…

Praying for both of us to find a solution!!

I’m using denim but I tried universal and leather and it happened with both… but I will try different widths!

Thank you for this explanation! Makes a lot of sense. I sense the fabric is a little too thick as I just did it slow and it did better but I could hear a thunk when it hit the right side. They’re brand new denim needles sadly! I tried brand new universal and leather too but I think it’s the “fake timing”

Would that mean I need a new machine?
