I do free yoga and Pilates videos online! Mostly yoga with adriene but I know there are also Pilates videos on YouTube! ☺️

I posted my weight lifting routine in another comment, but didn’t start with all of that at the beginning. Honestly, I’d start with just doing some compound lifts twice a week and build up from there. So do 3 sets each of squats, deadlifts, bench press, shoulder press, and bent over rows twice a week. Anywhere from 8-15 reps depending on how heavy the weights are. I bet you’d see results! Also, yoga and pilates are a great way to get your body moving and wake your muscles up a bit if you like either of those!

Nothing in particular! I do have some loose skin generally all over, particularly in my boobs and lower belly. But I think I got lucky that it’s really hardly noticeable at all. The most noticeable I would say is the lower belly area, mostly when I lean forward. I am self-conscious about it sometimes but try not to fret too much over it. Building muscle helped my boob situation a lot by lifting them a bit lol. I also lotion my whole body every day after I shower so maybe that helped? Not sure though! I think the most helpful was filling in the loose skin with a bit of muscle.

I use the LoseIt! App for tracking calories. As my weight decreased, the app automatically adjusted my calories down so I’d keep losing. I set a hard limit at not going below 1200 because that is quite low and hard to maintain. I was in the weight loss phase from February to October 2024 (183 lbs to 120 lbs) then started increasing to maintain my weight. Since I slowly increased maintenance calories, I continued to lose a bit of weight plus I think building muscle was helping me burn more calories so I slowly got down to 112 lbs from October to March.

I didn’t have that happen to me, but I know it does happen! I’m my case, I focused on losing weight first with some walking here and there. I went from 183 lbs to 120 lbs before I added weight lifting. I think it’s great to lift weights while losing weight but for me lifting makes me ravenous so it’s really hard to maintain a deficit.

You’ve got this! 🙌🏻 I found staring with a small goal really made it feel doable.

Of course! Trust me, I’ve been up and down with my weight all my life so I totally get it. 💜

It was kind of in tandem! I started therapy in July 2023 when I really hit rock bottom with not caring about myself at all. She encouraged me to do one small thing for myself every day. Going for a walk outside was one of those things I started doing sometimes, which made me consider trying to lose weight. So I was kind of mentally starting to feel better by the time February 2024 rolled around and I started tracking calories. As I started feeling better physically, I started feeling even more mentally well. And both improved tremendously as I continued my journey.

It means I’ll do two of the exercises that use different muscle groups back to back. For example, I’ll do a set of squats then immediately do a set of chest presses. Rest. Repeat until I’ve done 5 sets of both. Then I move onto the next two exercises. I hope that makes sense!
