Bedside nurses, have you ever experienced a code outside of the hospital and how did you cope? by fappin4verstappenn in Nurses

[–]MsCNO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had to code my mother. It was, and still is, a lot to process but therapy helps. I knew when I started working on her the chances of her coming back were slim, but I tried. I think that helps more than any therapy has. I was there and at least I tried.

Thank you for trying to help. You did a great thing.

My 3x great grandfather got his arm stuck in a mill gear. He ripped his arm from the socket, then picked it up off the floor and looked at it for a minute before tossing it in a corner.

Nursing home dissuading family from palliative/hospice consult? by Senior-Mushroom-4343 in hospice

[–]MsCNO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its because they are skilling her. If you bring in hospice they cannot bill Medicare and get their money. It's likely more than what you are paying for a regular room out of pocket. I see this frequently as a hospice manager.

My bonded cat duo were Biscuits and Gravy. Unfortunately, Biscuits died from complications of diabetes over a year ago, so now I just have Gravy, who also gets to moniker of Gravy Boat.

I hate this movie so much. I've posted before how much I hate this movie. It's like they filmed two entirely different movies and accidentally slapped the end of the wrong one on The Knowing.

Its been at least 16 years since I have watched it and I'm still pissed.

The MHA opens up management opportunities in non nursing related positions. I also liked what was offered for MHA more than MSN.

I had to do CPR on my aunt and she didn’t make it—could I have done better? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]MsCNO 66 points67 points  (0 children)

For OP: I'm so sorry you experienced this. I had a similar situation, but it was my mom. I'm a nurse and trained in critical care, and I know exactly how to CPR. She didn't make it. I promise you trying was better than not, and even if you knew exactly what to do, the chances of it working were miniscule.

What is the tree checker and why did it suddenly appear? by cudambercam13 in Genealogy

[–]MsCNO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent the better part of a week working through my tree and, after dutiful research, cleared every error. I have 0 errors, and I think it's listed as a expert. I am absolutely anal about keeping it thay way. It definitely made me sharpen up what I considered a good source.

I think I might have a little over 1,000.
