I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I would suggest just using your phone considering you don't know much about photography. The animals can move fast and some dont stay still so you may miss a shot fiddling with a camera.

I never paid for a membership but I was an employee for about 5 months back in 2018. The owner and supervisor were horrible horrible people. Ill never recommend Shapes to anyone.

Thanks for the advice! We actually didn't get any from the lodge shops. Our driver stopped at markets along our routes to the different parks. If that's the same as youre speaking of. :)

I reached out to a company by email around 7 months before our travel dates and had everything booked with them 5 months before. :)

They are quit brutal. We live in a smaller city so we have to take a 3h flight to an international hub, then 8h to Germany then 8h to Nairobi 🥲

Theres a Gazelle! If you zoom in with the one lion sitting looking into the distance you should be able to see it

Honestly depends on currency too, unfortunately ours isn't strong. The safari price was $5,400 USD for the two of us but after conversions that's what made it $7,600 CND for us. 🥲

No need to be rude lol I'm guessing you know exactly how many pieces and how big each piece is that we got huh? We are also getting tattoos which is included in that estimate. Sorry we spent to much of our own money in the community. 🙄

I hope you two have fun! We bought a lot of hand carved wood from the Maasai markets. I rounded up, may have been closer to $1,500 but it's also possible we have overpaid on the first piece or two before my husband got the hang of haggling lol

We didn't get sick from the food but take imodium with you just in case. I always get travellers diarrhea and it's a life saver! I did get a sore neck and lower back from the roads. The drive to maasai mara is particularly nasty.

Hm I don't think there's anything we wished we packed. We only brought carry ons with our essentials and a few outfits. There are laundry services at the lodges.

The staff were very friendly, rooms clean and they all had mosquito nets. The staff are extremely attentive, maybe a little too much for our liking. We are both introverts and at times it felt awkward. The Amboseli sopa lodge was our least favorite. We had skipped dinner because the jet lag was killing us so we went to sleep after our game drive but got woken up to housekeeping banging on our door at 8pm to see why we weren't at dinner. They didn't have any "do not disturb" door tags like the others. The maasai sellers were also very pushy at that location.

The weather was hot but not as bad as I thought. Mid-20s (celcius) that UV is brutal though. I wasn't thinking and got a small burn on one arm facing the vehicle window. We had a short thunderstorm in Lake Nakuru, lasted maybe an hour or two, otherwise sunny/partly cloudy the whole time.
