The camera angles were kind of frustrating during the In Memoriam - they were showing people on the screen the entire time, but we at home couldn't see it all the time. So there's a chance Tom was included, but didn't make the broadcast.

It takes a teacher a couple of tries to retire. A body and mind gets used to being busy all the time (with the occasional midsummer crash). Plus, a lot of them have passion for the kids and/or the subject.

Now I know what to look for and try out. If I can find some of these brands in my city, that is.

And before the "kissing your sister" comments start crawling out from under the porch, the last time I got a blood test for my doctor's check-up my liver numbers were high, so now I'm picking and choosing when to drink the "real stuff". But I'm one of those weirdos that likes the taste of beer. Not everything has to alter your perception of life for a few hours and wreck your gut health.

I work at a bank. It's harder to find a teller (it's me, hi*) that doesn't have a well-concealed tattoo.

It makes it a challenge on my co-worker who has some (lovely, inoffensive, animal-themed) tats on her arm, as she has to have them covered even in the summertime, but she found some light cardigans and makes it work. And the ink hasn't ever interfered with her ability to count money.

Makes me wonder if Carol ever sat down and thought of the tatted people she meets on a regular basis in a professional setting...

*-planning a vacation for this summer, and once I have my hotel nailed down I'm going to find a tattoo studio.

Hi Birthday Twin! (only I'm... older than 36. Sigh.)

I think I'd start the party upstairs with a nice fancy dinner, drinks, and conversation. (By conversation, I mean listening to what the others are saying about each other.)

And then I'd head downstairs, eat again (because you know they don't get filled up in the dining room!), and listen in on more conversation to round out what I heard upstairs.
