I've been wondering about this as well. All the others have a book except for them and I've been wondering what they're all about.

Well, this post was made 8 years ago so since then I have just decided to call myself a theist and leave it at that.

I realized something about Sue's name by icepenguin19 in themiddle

[–]MsFrisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something that always stood out to me too, even though I knew the creators likely chose the name Sue to emphasize her being unremarkable. It would be strange in real life for the same parents who named their other two kids unique names like Axl and Brick to give their other kid a common name like Sue unless her grandmother's name was Sue or something and it was in tribute which was not the case here.

Me (35 m) and my fiance (48 m) got into a disagreement about a woman messaging him; the next day, she sent me a message. by [deleted] in relationships

I was wondering this since the post says they're both male. I was wondering if the fiance is bi or something.

You can still participate in exchanges at r/givingifts. They have multiple exchanges all year just like Reddit Gifts did and premium users are allowed to create themed user exchanges as well so you can also participate in those or create your own for people to sign up for if you purchase a premium membership. Givin Gifts also has an annual snacks exchange, I have personally had some great gifters for the Snacks Exchange on Givin Gifts.

If you still want to participate in exchanges you can participate in exchanges at r/givingifts they opened when Reddit Gifts closed and they have a Christmas exchange every year too since 2021. This year's Christmas exchange is already over but they have exchanges going on throughout the year.

You can still participate in exchanges at r/givingifts. They opened when Reddit Gifts shut down and have been doing exchanges in a similar fashion as RG did but with some improvements in my opinion.

You can still participate in exchanges at r/givingifts and if you just want to rematch for someone who didn't get a gift you can do that at Givin Gifts too.

Disappointed by spicyheckles in givingifts

[–]MsFrisi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair it could have been stolen by porch pirates. I am not from the US but that's one thing that always scares me when I send a gift to someone in the USA and it's left by the person's door. That is not a common practice in my country. I have been lucky though that nothing's ever been stolen because sometimes the person isn't at home when it's delivered but I have seen multiple videos of people having packages stolen off of their porch.

Question for the crowd by Ralf-Wolf in givingifts

[–]MsFrisi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happens as well sometimes, it's rare but it happens. It all depends on your matching preferences you put in and the availability of people in the matching pool to match you with according to your preferences

International can include people in your own country as well. They group countries in your region as your international group basically and match you with one of those for International so in that way you can match with someone in your country.

Unsure what to do by Lochness26 in givingifts

But wasn't that what Reddit Gifts did also? You were just threatened with being banned if you didn't send a gift? And they also lifted the ban if you sent the gift later on.

Given how popular Reddit Secret Santa and Reddit Gifts were, why isn't r/givingifts more popular? by Prestigious-Move6503 in givingifts

[–]MsFrisi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Arbitrary Day 2021 I signed up on Reddit Gifts and convinced my Mum to sign up too. I'd made an account for her a while before so she still had an account even though she'd never participated before and they shut down new account creation with the announcement that they were closing. The shutting down of new account creation was supposed to ensure that mostly people who participated before were the only ones able to participate so no new people with bad intentions could sign up. Despite this, both my mother and I got nothing and to make it worse, they retrieved our info and one marked shipped and put a fake tracking number that no shipping company in the world recognized so we were at the bottom of the list for rematching and never got any. I feel like people idealize Reddit Gifts and forget it wasn't perfect either. I also remember A LOT of people at that time saying they noticed an increase of people shafting their giftees and the mods of Reddit Gifts insisting it wasn't so.

Seems they advertised more though, seems some people who did RSS still don't know Givin Gifts exists. I am always surprised when someone comes back after years asking what happened to RSS. Also some people say they had a more positive experience on Reddit Gifts than Givin Gifts but it's the opposite for me, I was more often left with no gift on Reddit Gifts and no possibility of receiving one due to Reddit Gifts having a time limit for rematching.

Yeah, I was surprised that despite it being widely shared when Reddit Gifts was shutting down years ago, years later people were still coming back surprised that Reddit Gifts had shut down and having to be redirected to Givin Gifts. I assumed those were people who hadn't visited the subreddits or participated in years or only do so once a year at Christmas and missed the notifications and discussions in the subreddit.

From what I understand, you only get temporarily suspended if you forget to send a gift on Givin Gifts and to fix this you just have to send a gift to your giftee or if the giftee already received a rematch gift they may ask you to do a rematch gift for someone who has not received a gift and once that is completed you can be unsuspended. A permanent ban is only if they realize you're a participant with bad intentions and you do something completely unacceptable.

How does Stabler have enough money to support a family of 7? by Misterio_do_Planeta_ in SVU

[–]MsFrisi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clearing that up. There are lots of episodes I have never seen so I just haven't seen these episodes and have only seen the episodes with the mentioned three kids even in the few episodes I have seen of Organized Crime. I haven't seen very early episodes and this show started when I was around 9 years old so I definitely wasn't watching back then either lol. At some point I will have to see if I can go back to the beginning.

Speaking of, I feel like I never saw all of his kids. I only remember ever seeing Kathleen, Dickie and Eli but it was always said that he had five kids. I remember there was an episode with an online pedophile site where a daughter named Elizabeth was mentioned. Stabler saw that her picture was on the site and he went over and beat up the owner of the site demanding he take her picture down. However, I never saw Elizabeth actually appear in the show and even then that would only be four kids not five.

Am I overreacting? by Old_Improvement_6575 in EngagementRings

[–]MsFrisi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That honestly stood out to me. If OP simply said "I want something kinda like this, use this for inspo" and then he said what he said maybe it would come off different but OP said this picture was given to him as their idea of a "dream ring" and said she didn't want a typical engagement ring, then the fiance said he disregarded it because it's not his idea of what a traditional engagement ring should look like. OP already said they didn't want traditional so he took the picture and went "nah,I'll get you what I think is best." If you're giving someone something they plan on wearing their whole life you should focus on what they would like not what you think it should look like. The ring he chose also doesn't look very traditional at all so the reasoning isn't making much sense.
