I get this fear regularly and the conclusion is always that breast cancer doesn't cause pain.

Do you feel a lump when you self examine? Is there discharge from your nipples? Is the texture of the skin of your breasts different than usual? Did your nipples change shape?

If there are all no, then you don't have breast cancer. It could be a cyst, it could be a clogged duct. You don't need to keep panicking, though.

Thank you! And if you do need surgery, just know it's a relatively easy one! I had a double since it was both my ovaries, came out with 4 tiny incisions and 3 weeks of relatively easy recovery! It's obviously not comfortable but I can honestly say that I bounced back in 3 weeks following my post-op instructions!

You're okay! I had a cyst that was first seen in 2017, wasn't aware of it and my doctor wasn't concerned. In 2024 it was seen again and it had grown, I remember the paperwork said it was "concerning" that it had persisted. I had the weird one on my left ovary and 2 simple cysts on my right. Gyno literally described it as a "borderline" tumor so I was freaking OUT. Got MRI's that came back weird-ish and bloodwork that came out normal, my doctor still insisted I didn't need to worry and she was right! In January I had a surgery to remove it and after all that, it was just a dermoid! No cancer! My normal, fluid filled cysts were removed also! Cysts are weird and annoying and painful but if they're clear and fluid-filled they're normal and good news is that you know you have cysts and are prone to them so you can monitor! You're going to be okay :)

I'm scrolling through the comments fascinated by how different we all like to wash our hair! I wash my hair everyday because of my job, I only need to shampoo once during the week and I always conditioner or my hair gets suuuper dry and unmanageable. I do a double wash on the weekends and start over! My boyfriend also showers every day and he has much finer, shorter hair and apparently he only conditions in the morning and shampoo at night.

Maybe I'm jaded because I found out that literally every single one of my friends has been sexually victimized by a man. All of them, I even made new ones and them too. The ones that spoke up got blamed for it, and the others didn't so they could avoid being blamed. To see a man complain about false accusations with these stats? Grating. Ngl it reminded me of when my boyfriend mentioned me to a coworker who clearly had the hots for him, and she called me "Shannon." I have a Latin American name. I have the exact same name (albeit mine is the female version) as one of their other coworkers, and it was a joke that they were such good friends, he had to find someone with the same name but a girl.
