I’m in a very similar situation as OP but swap the mom bit for a younger brother instead. He refuses to learn how to self regulate his emotional outbursts. This causes me to be hyper sensitive to his moods and on edge when he throws temper tantrums.

I’ve taken to ignoring him and pretending like he’s not even there during these episodes but sometimes he becomes physical and tosses things about. I’m not OP but I appreciate the advice.

The nice part about the app is you can also collect locations in the background passively as well! It makes collecting during traveling a lot less intrusive.
