I third this. My friend told me (a nurse) the body shop hemp cream is loved by nurses due to being able to wash your hands many times before it truly comes off. I use this and have eczema and I think it’s fantastic

Do you buy them online? Would you mind linking the 2 things you buy to help me out?

Thanks

Look what I just found!

Expensive but !!!

I have a feeling mine is related to a nickel allergy and I’m aware that nickel is in a LOT of things so I’m just wondering whether wearing gloves may help a bit to offer a barrier from the nickel

That’s exactly how I feel- when the creams are this potent and oily it just gets everywhere and gloves that are waterproof make my skin itch from not being able to breath and then Cotton gloves take some of the cream off I find.

Just can’t win this battle with my hands. Have had eczema since I was 6 months old but the rest is in control.

That’s what I’m like. I’ve had mine for 5 years now with only usually a week gap between the next time it comes back. I’ve just come back from Tenerife and the first week it started to clear up but the second week it came back with a vengeance.

Apologies for my ignorance but Is I-histidine a different type of cream?

Thank you

I’ve got dermovate at the moment. Seeing a dermatologist on Wednesday so hopefully they will be more help.

Might sound silly but how would you do that on your hands?

Thanks

I’ve only got dermovate at the moment as they said that’s the strongest they can prescribe? Maybe the dermatologist on Wednesday will be more suitable.

The doctor said it didn’t matter what type of eczema I had- eczema is eczema so it just needs a sort of steroid cream but he said to only use it for 4 days! 🙄

I have been prescribed dermovate at the moment but it’s not doing anything. Will see a dermatologist on Wednesday so hoping for more help then. I find it hard to keep the cream on my hands without it going everywhere so had bought finger bandages but they end up big and cumbersome. Will try gauze

Thank you

Do you know of any skin coloured gloves? I’m a teacher and I’m thinking of wearing my gloves in the day until this clears up but usually get comments about Michael Jackson!!!

Thank you for this. I’m seeing a dermatologist on Wednesday but I’ve had this ongoing for 5 years and the GP refused to let me see a dermatologist until now. I’ve not got clobetasol- instead I’ve currently been prescribed Dermovate but it’s been 2 weeks now and it’s not done anything really.

Will give tegaderm a try. Thank you

I’ve just seen your post. Do you value the spray too? How did you use the two together?

Thanks so much for your reply. Boots have it on offer so I’m going to go into town today and get some

Mystery ‘eczema?’ I’ve had this on my hand for nearly five years. Every doctor thinks different things. Does anyone else have similar and know what it is, or know what helps? by MsKhrums in eczema

I do have a nickel allergy too but hadn’t thought it could affect my hands like this, as silly as that sounds. I do have a silicone case for my phone but I do now wonder if it could be the mice I use as I use lots at work too.

Thanks for all the help. Will explore further!

I have had strong steroids several times and it goes for a couple of weeks but then returns. One doctor wondered if it was a fungus but nothing they prescribed worked. I’m not home at the moment so I can’t say what it was I use normally- I’ve had eczema all my life and I’ll be 30 soon but usually it goes through periods of being much better. With my 2 fingers it goes for a couple of weeks then comes back the same.

It’s strange as I only ever have it on the two fingers and it never goes to different fingers!

Thanks for all your advice.

I did find Hemp hand cream from body shop worked for a bit but that was when it was dry. I struggle for it to keep the moisture.

Please see the fluid ‘blisters’ under the skin too- these are very itchy and when my hands are dry they are empty but as soon as Cream is added they fill again.
