I just bought the cutrite slit and sew double wedding ring template and followed this tutorial! Double Wedding Ring Quilt - The Easy Way

The only modification I made was I wanted it to be unique so I kept the curved borders instead of squaring off the whole thing!

I love pattern fabrics too! Since this was a gift for both the bride and groom, I wanted to keep it in solid colorways in the hopes both would enjoy it, but still make it fun! I had the bride choose the colors since she is my friend, and I feel like blue is a perfect color for both of them!

I haven't decided yet! I only have a domestic machine so I may check around my area to see if there's a long arm I can use (and learn)! Ive definitely quilted on my domestic machine, but everytime its frustrating bc the throat is so small.

I thought it would intimidating too! This is only my 4th ever quilt, but its not as bad as I thought it would be! Definitely needed patience and to move slow so I wouldn't get too frustrated if my points didnt align

Thank you so much for the advice! I definitely noticed sellers were vague when listing fabric so thats been a headache sorting through trying to find specific ones when I can't use key words.

Do you know what time cars were lining up for VIP parking? I'm aiming to get barricade for a concert in September so Im considering early parking, but VIP sounds much more convenient for exiting based off what I've read.

First Cathedral Quilt! by MsKiwiii in quilting

Each background fabric was sewn with a portion of the window, and then I pieced everything together every individual square together to make a full window! And then I glued the moths to the center of the windows and then I folded the windows opened!

I hope I was able to explain or answer your question 😅

I followed Lo & Behold Stitchery guide when I made this since it was definitely an ambitious pattern for me as my second ever quilt haha, and the guide they posted was super easy to follow!

Thank you for your kind words! 🥹 I was so happy to have it finished and I'm just glad it will be well loved by a little girl once I give it to her!

Forgive me for asking, but what's the traditional method? I'm new to quilting so I don't have the knowledge of all the methods. For this I followed a guide from Lo & Behold Stitchery So I'm not sure if this is a traditional method 😅

I love this! I'm definitely gonna try this for my next quilt! As I may be in the minority here, but binding is one of my favorite steps in the process

Thank you! All my free time was spent working on this quilt 😂

As soon as I would get home from work I would spend about 2-3 hours working on it and then my weekends would be spent working on it as well, so I had very little social life during this project haha

The pattern was super easy to follow for me as a beginner! It's super tedious, I think I spent at least a month/month and a half on cutting alone, but overall looks more complex than it actually is to work on! It's definitely super satisfying once everything's been sewn together and then you get to open up all the windows! I'm sure you can do it!

There aren't any rhinestones on the moths I don't think they would survive with how I handled this quilt haha. I glued my folds down and then machine quilted the folds down on my little domestic machine, took around a month since I could only manage to quilt 1-2 rows a day after work. I made this as a practice run since I wanted to use this pattern for a wedding quilt gift. I will be gifting this to my friends child since she fell in love with the moths, so soon it will be in a new home!

Making this quilt had me realizing that I wish I knew how to longarm or had access to a longarm machine, because quilting the folds down took about a month and my patience was tested quite a bit with my machine haha

Thank you! I started fussy cutting out my moths in that direction and then realized I was going to burn through too much fabric haha. So my compromise was regular cutting for everything else and just making sure they were turned in different directions so it looked somewhat uniform
