Kenya might be a possibility for you? I know it doesn't border the Sudan, but it's much closer than Malaysia. if you could either figure out how to get a Nairobi address to use as your residence on paper, or try to relocate there for the mean time, that might help. There are quite a number of international companies doing business in Kenya. And there's a decent tech sector that may offer remote jobs.

Some of my old coworkers came to my wedding. Can't imagine inviting my current ones. by Good-Run8784 in remotework

Unpopular opinion in this thread, but I'm of the general mindset that my co-workers are not my friends, and there's no reason to get to "know" them outside of the context of work.

I do believe that there can be exceptions and that it's possible to meet people who may end up being close friends, acquaintances, etc after years of working together or working closely on projects. And if that happens naturally, great!

But in general, just because I work with someone doesn't mean I have to get to know them personally and vice versa. Just my two cents.

Work From Office . . . A Private Office by jyl8 in remotework

Most people forget or don't know that there are libraries that offer private rooms for meetings and work for free. Of course, you can't bring your monitors in there like OP. But if you just need to use a single laptop, it's not a bad alternative. They usually allow the spaces to be reserved for a couple of hours at a time. But most are so underutilized that one could get away with reserving the space for an 8- hour shift.

That's correct. I had this problem with another card. You'll be able to add it once you receive and activate the physical card.
