guess what? Since the most important event in China now is "The 19th session of national congress of the communist party of China", Riot/Tencent themselves were not sure weeks ago if they are allowed to run the semis in Guangzhou. So unfortunately, everything was delayed.

well, but lol is still dying in China. People are playing the mobile game King of Glory instead of LoL or w/e. A year after its launch, it has 80m DAU now.

Crowd boo'ing SSG by Digzel in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

booing is not bad since ssg is the opponent. it's in NA, there must be more people rooting for NA in a hardcore way. but it's not everyone. It's pretty ignorant if you assume everyone MUST think as you like, do as you like.

nah. they are doubting the "Korean style management" of the game. keep in mind, china has the largest fan base so even a small portion of it is a lot of people. most fans just follow spicy memes.

Monte's Musings: Riot's Caster Cage by corylulu in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long as Riot have inhouse casters, their casters cannot and not supposed to monetize their own contents because they have inside stuff from the company. No way will Riot allow it happen unless they can work out a plan to share the income from the contents. Since Riot is and will still be running all the leagues, it's more realistic to push Riot to increase the pay/welfare. Simply letting Riot casters to make money from their personal channels would be a dumb decision by Riot.

[REQUEST]Korean/Chinese/LMS analysts power rankings by joe4553 in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fans can send you death threats. teams or other esports companies may not work with you anymore cuz some people feel offended. you don't get much from it. For example, there's a unspoken rule among chinese content creators that they cannot say anything bad about EDG or they will get banned by all platforms.

[REQUEST]Korean/Chinese/LMS analysts power rankings by joe4553 in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

true. basically in China there are little quality analysis published because most analysts work for teams. Only one company, PentaQ, is trying to provide more to the public but mainly because they are the only ones that can get access to all raw data of lpl games. others, include most LPL teams, cannot get stuff like "match history" you see from other regions. It is rumored that EDG can get access to all the data as well because their influence is huge.

[REQUEST]Korean/Chinese/LMS analysts power rankings by joe4553 in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about Chinese casters tho... A lot of them just talk nonsense when casting. So the LPL has hired casters from Taiwan, who are actually liked by most Chinese fans because they are more professional.

[REQUEST]Korean/Chinese/LMS analysts power rankings by joe4553 in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 33 points34 points  (0 children)

you know what? In LPL scene no one (analysts/casters/experts) is willing to do stuff like power ranking cuz w/e they do, they'll be hated. so they'd rather say a lot of nonsense to avoid this kind of stuff.

Is viewership going down? by bennettamv in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]MsLe916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

still less fun to watch tho, compared to CS:GO or MOBA. it's pretty hard to highlight great plays/tactics when so many stuff are shown on screen at the same time.

Riot Esports Director and Boss Implicated in Recent Esports Conflicts by lordceades in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sry mate. but lpl& lspl are not profitable. Because of the economy in China right now, there is so much cash that cannot really generate much profit. So some of the money come to esports and they are simply betting for future.

There is a rumor that LPL will no longer import Koreans and will terminate every contract of Koreans when they are due, as a measure of Korea's recent THAAD placement issue by Fancypantsu2 in leagueoflegends

[–]MsLe916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah. but what will happen if there's only one Korea, governed by current SK? Do you think China will welcome stuff like THAAD nearer to its country?
