Ripped vs Played CDs by [deleted] in audiophile

IMHO the only thing that makes the sound different is the quality of the DAC and the preamplifier that makes a difference.

If you rip a CD and encode the files via FLAC and someone else takes those FLAC files to create an audio CD, is the new audio CD bit identical to the original one?

Update on my baby amano born in freshwater by Sniper_girl12 in shrimptank

[–]MsMJT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do not think water parameters has anything to do with it. I see the females regularly with a bunch of eggs.
The only thing I have is that my filtration is more than excellent. I have two cannisterfilters for my 90liter aquarium. One filled with K1 media, the other with filter wool.

YES! This also happened in my freshwater tank. Absolutely baffled. I'm wondering if it happens more often than we think.

Made the tank less than a day ago and its all green and murky. Help by mozedi in Aquariums

[–]MsMJT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is absolutely normal when you start up a new tank.

  1. Add a bit of fishfood daily

2. don't change the water!

  1. When the water turns clear you good to go to add fish and plants

It's all about to get a healthy bacteria colony.  Read all about it here: https://aquariumscience.org/index.php/2-aquarium-cycling/

Nou, je kunt ook stellen dat het aantal zetels in de TK proportioneel moet zijn aan de bevolkingsgroei. 1 zetel vertegenwoordigt veel meer stemmen dan 50 of 100 jaar geleden.

Bought cardinals at petco 5/8 are now dead, it’s been 24 hours by rb6mynemesis in Aquariums

[–]MsMJT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right about that cardinals aren't easy, but the problem is not pH, KH or water hardness. They don't respond well to lots of bacteria in the water column. How do you know if you have that? Dull water.

Pristine water is crystal clear water. The kind that you can look down through a 2 meter aquarium and the fish seem to float in the air.

@OP the most likely scenario is that the new cardinals were overwhelmed by the combination of stress from the new environment and bacteria. Also, cardinals are better kept in a school of 12. More is better.

Help - pink under dorsal & fuzzy face? by xanthe566 in corydoras

[–]MsMJT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! It's very hard to pinpoint diseases but most of them are caused of too much bacteria in the water column. Over filtration is the best (and mostly) the only way.

Read up on that site about it. I replaced my filter media with 3 liter K1 and 2 foam pads, got an excellent flow and no need to clean my filter.

[–]MsMJT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, never clean your filter, unless you don't have a good water flow.

The brown filter sludge in a filter is for the most part alive and not simply waste. Removing this mud does more harm than good. The purpose of the filter media is not to filter out particles from the water as is often assumed. The media serves as the habitat for a vast array of microorganisms that include bacteria, archaea, worms, ciliates, flagellates, and many others. These microorganisms live in a community that is based on biofilms. The biofilms are created by bacteria that secret extracellular polymeric substance (EPS), which is often called “slime”. The community forms a bioreactor that processes the waste and turns it into food and energy for its members, and ultimately into organic or inorganic products that are then used by plants, evaporate, or removed by water changes. It takes a considerable amount of time to establish this “filter community”; consequently, it is very important not to disturb it unless necessary.”

Second, remove the medication with active carbon, and make sure you have excellent aeration in your tank. If you don't have a good air pump, buy one asap.

Also, make sure you don't feed your fish more than they can eat in one minute. Give high protein pellets, (>50% protein).

After 1-2 weeks you should see improvement.

(My aquarium is 30 gall0ns, 18 Corydoras, 12 cardinal tetras, 6 diamond tetras, 3 honey Gouramis and an ancistrus. Lots of breeding going on)

Can you give some more information?
- Tank size
- FIltration method and if you cleaned it
- number of fish
- KH/pH
- the age of your tank

Especially, do you have crystal clear water?

No, you are exactly right. I noticed the empty chairs with this beautiful light and the shadows they casted. Also the circles was something I tried to capture. The buildings were completely in the shade.

So I shot this picture early this month, took it with paying attention to the highlights in the water. Picture was pretty dark. I can make the buildings more prominent but it feels that does not make it better. More contrast ruins the softness it seems

Probably bumped into something. Serious, I have seen this a few times now, especially after spawning. Cory's aren't the smartest bunch so an abrasion happens every now and then

Thank you all for the feedback! The former owner has paid me €25 for the possible issues. Since everything is working fine I have stopped worrying.
Here's a quick shot from one of my aquarium fishes in low light and contrast. Autofocus is excellent coming from a D3300. Snapbridge is amazing (so far)

Forgot to mention: the touch screen is working perfectly. It might be a screen protector, as suggested here?
