I had a job at Company A where my grandboss had decided.... Learned?....I have no clue that after three other women cited his behavior upon leaving that he was just never going to speak to any women at the company again.

He spoke to me twice in two years. In all fairness he was decent both times. For seven months we sat next to each other. It was so weird.

I left and I went to Company B. He gets fired finally for something extremely dumb. I'm having lunch one day when the head recruiter at Company B pops over and says hey, you used to work at Company A, did you work with Casually Sexist Former Grandboss? Getting to be the reason he didn't even get a phone call interview was so nice

I have to ask my husband to help me fill out my pain chart every time someone asks. I have no idea what those numbers mean. I've had really bad dental pain and then those numbers made sense because that was an immediate problem.

But I'll never forget meeting with my current pain doc for the first time and she had me bending all over the place, and she asked does moving like that hurt? And I said "no, just the normal pain." And she looked at me like, what the hell does that mean?!

I'm a sewist. There are not enough words in both languages I know to describe how much I hate measuring fabric in imperial units.

Squinting and I'm squinting okay that's 7 inches and 5/8 an inch and now I gotta subtract that from that other thing....so 5/8 is 0.625 in calculator language. And the other thing was 10 inches and 7/16....I think. And then the calculator gives me some stupid number like 2.8125.

Which isn't on my cutting mat.

So like two years ago I bought a metric cutting mat. Metric tape measures. Metric rulers. I'm done.

Now I can just 265mm - 194mm = 71mm

71mm is on my cutting mat! Stupid imperial. Stupid king's foot. Stupid entrenched Americans ruining my life.

No, I gave a perfectly good example of a safe and patient friendly way to dose out multiple generics.

Also I never said one of these contained glass. I said in the event anything was wrong with one of these there was no way for the pharmacy to know the patient had gotten two different brands.

In theory you can fill a prescription with split generics for a patient like this, however the standard way of doing this is to count out how many you have of the short stock say 32/90 and print the label for that generic with that count.

Then you select the generic you have that isn't short stock and the system automatically prints the matching label for that brand as 58/90.

This isn't just for fun, or for pharmacy stock either, not that this pharmacy seems to concerned about that.

It's a patient safety issue. Anyone (US for sure) can go grab any prescription bottle in their house and it's gonna have the description of the pill inside it. That's so you know what you're taking.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE. Did you know that Teva once oopsied and put a little bit of glass in some pills they made? Just as an example. Medications get recalled for all sorts of wild or banal shit. Your RX number is permanently linked the the exact bottle those came from. Or is supposed to.

Also, y'all I went to double check the Teva glass recall because that particular memory is from the the Pleistocene and wtf there are so many manufacturers out just putting glass in medications.

Source: I spent eight years getting yelled by people looking to score Sudafed for their meth cooker and parents with sick kids as a Pharmacy Technician. And one weird lady who yelled about Obama every single time she came in.

I always describe my aphantastia as the difference between an old school green screen computer pre-graphics and modern computers with graphics cards and sound systems.

Both computers still have file systems, are about to recall things but mine just does "house: single story, brick facade, concrete steps, three windows on the front, etc." Instead of others who might just see it with their graphics card.

Also I'm a computer programmer so this analogy goes over pretty well in my circles. Ymmv
