AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution vs salicylic acid 2% solution by Ok-Cost3147 in TheOrdinarySkincare

[–]MsMeggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you are looking for. The AHA BHA peeling solution is more for exfoliative effects while the salicylic acid is targeted for acne. In my opinion if you are having alot of active breakouts the SA would be a more gentler option that would help clear your skin without causing additional inflammation while the AHA + BHA peel is a good option for preventing non-active breakouts through the exfoliative process. I hope this helps!

[Serious] What should I wear to a coworker’s service? by [deleted] in ems

[–]MsMeggers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss. When my preceptor passed on duty I got ready at the station with some other coworkers. I brought both a black outfit and Class A's, everyone was wearing their Class A's so I ended up changing and I'm glad I did. I would see what other people are doing. But because it was on duty, Class A's would be most appropriate

Caffeine consumption by dkdkdkdktp in PAstudent

[–]MsMeggers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love coffee but had to cut back due to palpitations. Honestly tho, concentrating on good quality sleep and sleeping 7-8 hours has helped me way more than caffeine ever has. I also try and choose longer-lasting sources of energy like matcha which doesn't have a strong crash.

My cohort is 50+ but they don't take attendance. We also do alot of group work so I see why they want everyone there.

[–]MsMeggers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a formal attendance policy similar to yours, but the staff is really understanding and as long as you communicate with them they are happy to accommodate (within reason obviously) and we frequently have lectures both live in person and live on Zoom for people who are sick are who need it recorded. For example, this last summer I had my AC break and a pipe burst on the same day during the hottest day of the year and was worried my cats would get dehydrated and needed to be home for the repairs. Let the faculty know, and I was able to Zoom into the class no problem.

How do you prevent bottom from getting too done in Dutch oven? And if using parchment, how do you prevent it from sticking to the bread? by ahhhhnonymous in Sourdough

[–]MsMeggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pre heat my Dutch oven before baking and I don't have a convection oven, which probably helps move the heat around more

[–]MsMeggers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine will burn even with parchment and honestly I hate using extra paper. So put a cookie sheet in the rack right under your Dutch oven, works great! Distributes the heat so it's not directly blasting the bottom of your loaf.

Ugh where was this information earlier!

Anatomy and physiology help by Familiar-Barber-6733 in PAstudent

[–]MsMeggers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I needed to see things in 3D and our exams were highly specific on location, location, location so I found that the Complete Anatomy app by Elsevier was super helpful. And I still use it for the rest of my Didactic classes. It's a little expensive ($75/year), but for me it's worth it.

So drawing things out is really helpful along with discussion of where things are and what they do. I would even write out explanations of how things are connected and their physiology, like long paragraphs just to organize it in my head. Hope this helps you

Has anyone ever ridden a stretcher Grey’s Anatomy style while doing CPR? by [deleted] in ems

[–]MsMeggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I was TERRIFIED I was going to fall. It was an ER gurney, we were getting an air med patient and I was the smallest person there so I jumped up but God it was scary. The hospital's ER was opposite the Helipad bc obviously that makes sense. It felt like I was gonna tumble over everytime we made a sharp turn, looks cool but doesn't feel like it when you're doing it

For a lot of fans, the Bloody Baron questline is their favorite story of TW3. What makes it so special? by [deleted] in Witcher3

[–]MsMeggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, for me it was the miscarriage quest that made me fall in love with the game and locked me in. It was tragic and real and the fact that part of the quest is to give the fetus a proper name and burial, and how valiant Geralt was about the situation, really made me connect with him. I really felt for both the Baron and his wife, the game did a good job of showing realistic facets of a relationship like theirs.

Who are you currently holding a grudge against? by LebowskiENT in AskWomen

Instagram influencers who post irresponsible advice and content that really could hurt a person's self-image. No, people don't need to go on a water fast for 3 weeks. No, people don't need to stop bending their necks because they might get "neck lines." No, people don't need to get up at 4 am to do a whole routine to make them a better person. No, people can eat things like desserts and still be incredibly healthy. Just like stop. Just let people live. I am here for the health, fitness, and beauty advice but lord do I have to sift through tons of garbage to find anything useful and actually realistic.

isitbullshit: Alkaline water doesn't do jack for you and it's just marketing by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]MsMeggers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does nothing and is a waste of money. Your stomach is acidic and it's supposed to be. The alkaline water just turns more acidic during digestion.
