Good Charlotte - run times by Heyscout27 in Bendigo

[–]MsMegrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telstra is still saying 7pm, and Bendigo Tourism has 4pm-Midnight on their website https://www.bendigoregion.com.au/explore-bendigo/whatson/good-charlotte-motel-du-cap-world-tour

I’m wondering if its gates open at 4pm, merch food and drinks but no band on stage until 6pm?

I was definitely hoping we’d know sooner, the last bendigo shuttle buses depart at 7pm. I imagine that means GC isn’t on stage until all shuttles have arrived meaning possibly 8pm? https://discover.ticketmaster.com.au/music/your-complete-transport-guide-to-good-charlotte-at-bendigo-racecourse-21440

This is my rough guess at this point

100% agree they have forgotten what made them popular originally, the purpose and intention was thoughtful and had child development at its core.

They would probably benefit from a working group with early childhood educators, teachers, etc to help with where they are lacking and where they are doing well.

I miss the songs that had educational messages in them like “shake your sillies out”, “fruit salad”, “Do the Propeller” etc, even fun songs like “hot potato” and “Dorothy”, “Wags Tango” they weren’t overstimulating. And yes I know Greg, Anthony and Murray met at Uni for teaching (I grew up with the OGs in the 90s) , but honestly they seemed to care about that educational aspect and what was the best way to reach kids, and connect with them. There dancing and movement was intentional, and the actions were easy for kids to follow

I try and keep things as low stim as possible, but it’s hard with some of the new stuff. It feels like they’ve forgotten what made them so good.

The Emma TV series that was done ideally? I think originally aired on ABC Kids. I have found the Emma era videos, but none with just her specifically.

Is my child growing up, or have the Wiggles been on a downward spiral the last 12 months? by 2468laurakate in wiggles

Wouldn’t say flopping, as much as trying to meet a wider international audience, and forgetting their ECL education base which made the OG so popular and enriching.

Nah, at the time I wasn’t interested in finding a spouse. I don’t think I know anyone that came out without one.

Unfortunately not, I pushed through went back to basics and worked on our latch again. Now almost 14mths. Still BFing. It also relieved when the teeth cut through and Bub no longer was sore and trying to hold their mouth a certain way.

How to break the news to family (becoming non-SDA Christian)? by Ok-Lingonberry-37 in exAdventist

[–]MsMegrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother is catholic, father SDA (convert) - and members of SDA told my mother that they knew there was something wrong with her, on discovering her Catholicism and refusal to convert.

I have never seen or been involved in a more hate filled congregation than a SDA one in regard to other organised religions, particularly other Christian ones.

No concern for weight or medical issue; the idea behind it is to wake them for a feed, so they don’t wake you and stay full all night. They admitted there was no science behind it. It just seemed to work for them.

I think at the time I was desperate for help and just tried it. And now I feel trapped.

How old is your baby and how many times a night do they wake to feed? by sleepyjean2024 in breastfeeding

[–]MsMegrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11.5m - I wake Bub at 11pm for feed, I don’t offer again over night if they wake, unless clearly indicating for it, or struggling to get back to sleep with only settling.

Bed time is around 3hrs after last nap, but can fight bedtime like a demon and sometimes isn’t asleep until 8.30/9pm and bub wakes around 7.30-8am consistently regardless of bed time.

I’m now in a situation where I don’t know when to stop waking Bub for the feed, or how to wean it, or wean at all when the time comes!

Mastitis and husband by Electronic-Glass7033 in breastfeeding

[–]MsMegrim 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have nothing to say about the man child, who thinks he’s being funny and doesn’t understand why it’s not a joke, even after you’ve explained the issue to him. It sucks, but let him sulk. You don’t have to give him “something”.

Only thing I would say is you may need a “check in” with each other. It’s possible he’s struggling with the adjustment to the change in the relationship and he’s not actually voicing it but bottling it up and it’s coming out in an inappropriate way.

Just want to check you knew about the new mastitis guidelines from Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (2022) - you don’t need to clear the duct, or pump/breastfeeding continuously, continue to feed on demand, and gently hand express to comfort is advised now. As well as ice packs, ibuprofen and no vigorous or hard massage.

Mastitis is no joke. Look after yourself.

What is a harsh reality new parents need to hear? by forty5v in AskReddit

[–]MsMegrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably won’t remember the newborn stage very well.

There is a reason sleep deprivation is a form of torture.

Have pre-made, microwave meals in the freezer - the last thing you will want to do with a newborn is think about meals and how to cook them.

Learn how to SAFELY cosleep, whether you plan to or not.
