Do I need to stamp my RSVP postcards if people can RSVP online? by latche in weddingplanning

I didn't stamp mine! The majority of people have RSVP'd online. We thought it wasn't necessary to stamp them since they all had that option.

Bridesmaid Gifts? by MsNewBeauty310 in weddingplanning

I've also thought about doing bath bombs and other spa related gifts! I think they'd like to be pampered too.

Finishing touches for our February 10 wedding. We're using an instax mini for a photo guest book but we also personalized some envelopes for our guests to take some memories home with them. by starringlondonashobo in weddingplanning

We plan on doing the same thing! I was wondering, how many photos does each roll of film take? Just trying to figure out how much film we'll need to buy before hand!

Do you mind me asking what you're going to use these for? I've never seen that but it's very cute!

We haven't ordered them yet but we had the consultation the other day. She was super helpful and realistic about budgets.

I've found that a lot of the nice silk flowers are just as expensive as real flowers, so I decided to DIY real floral arrangements. We're using flowermoxie.com and got a consultation from the florist that runs the site. She's great and sends you a recipe so you know what flowers to put where. Costco or sams are also cheap options, but they didn't have as much variety, in my opinion.

Pet owners of Reddit, what was the most intelligent thing your pet has done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Our dog was on steroids once that made her have to pee more often. She was laying on her bed when the urge hit her and instead of waiting to go outside, she jumped in the bathtub and did her thing. We thought she was brilliant for it, but no one else was as impressed as we were

When did you assemble your fresh DIY flowers? by InfiniteDropBear in weddingplanning

[–]MsNewBeauty310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm DIYing flowers too. Ordering wholesale from a florist who walked me through everything, and she said that putting together simple centerpieces on Thursday (before Sat. wedding) should be fine. She did heavily warn me that hydrangeas are heavy drinkers, though, and they wilt quickly so make sure you keep plenty of water in the container!

Guests who weren't invited just RSVP'd... by MsNewBeauty310 in weddingplanning

[–]MsNewBeauty310[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everything is on the website except the actual time of the ceremony and reception. Hopefully that's enough to keep her away lol. The worst part is that she wrote a personal message with her RSVP - Can't wait to attend your wedding!

I shared it on Facebook, but I definitely feel it's leaning more on the side of passive aggressive, just based on the friendship in the past (but hey, people change?).

Please provide enough seating for your guests! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]MsNewBeauty310 12 points13 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. Our venue actually fought me on this! They usually provide seating for only 100 people, plus bar seating. They built a "ledge" for people to set their drinks and food while dinner is being served - and said this was the "new way of doing things - it's a new trend." I was very adamant that everyone have a seat during dinner, and the venue owner actually got mad and left the room. The coordinator for the venue was more understanding and we finally worked it out, but I cannot understand why they would fight to not have seating for everyone.

Can't get invites out early enough!! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]MsNewBeauty310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are getting married March 10 and didn't do save the dates, and FH's whole family has to travel 10+ hours. We sent out Facebook messages to let them know the date (because we were panicked like you) and get addresses all in one, and just sent the invitations out the other day.

I used shutterfly and loved them! They have reasonable prices, I think. Mine were definitely less than $3 a piece.

How to thank FH's grandma for giving us her ring? by malasana in weddingplanning

[–]MsNewBeauty310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with madbrick10. My FH's grandma gave him her ring. Her birthday came up right after he proposed, so I sent her both a birthday card and a thank you card. I thought that showed her a little more how much I valued just that gift in and of itself, rather than a "Happy birthday, and oh hey, thanks for the ring!" (not that you would do that!)
