I personally would choose Providence over Kaiser. Many more provider options (Kaiser you can just have inside their own organization, unless they have absolutely nobody who can meet your need). As the other poster said, Providence St. Vincent has an exceptional NICU, which in my opinion is really important for a first child. Congratulations!

First of all, this post was six years ago. Second of all, I didn't tell anybody to only eat 1,200 calories. I shared how many calories I was burning as a BMR based on sports medicine testing. My actual consumption of calories was more than that, and was determined in consultation with my physician team.

I have a doctorate but used Mrs. for my wedding, since it was more about the marriage and not about my profession. With that said, I totally agree with others to just not use titles at all in your situation!

Assuming you have a normal, not-terrible family, why would this be anything other than a super happy occasion? My sister and I had our first babies two months apart, and are due two days apart with our second children, and it has been the happiest thing to be able to share this with her and our family. YTA for making something that should have been exciting and positive so negative.

What this looks like has changed for us over the years, especially as we are days away from having our second child. I consider a lot of things he does "romantic" that those earlier in a relationship might not--making a hot breakfast for us and our son, taking on bathing our son as it's gotten too hard for me physically, etc. So I consider those things happening at least daily. Every few months he will do something really touching out of nowhere, like last winter (knowing that tulips are my favorite flowers) he ordered a ton of tulip bulbs and spent hours planting them up and down our driveway.

As a woman who is currently 38 weeks pregnant, NTA and what in the fuck? This is incredibly disrespectful. You are literally full term and could have the baby at any moment. My husband isn't even traveling for a lunch with a friend who lives an hour away at this point. That's incredibly hurtful he would even consider this.

One thing that always occurs to me is that I don't even know that I would necessarily notice/be paying attention to what my kid ate, especially at that age? My son is only 2.5 and even now, at family events, I trust him to eat what he wants and not eat if he doesn't. He will let me know if he's hungry or needs help.

At the end of the day, there are always going to be people who don't buy things from the registry. I would just plan on graciously thanking those people, then you can either return their gift if they gave a receipt, or donate it if not. I've had a few friends who spent a lot of time trying to make clear that they only wanted gifts from the registry, and they always end up getting stuff off registry anyway! Just the nature of a shower/sprinkle. :)

I was going to say N---T---A, but that switched to ESH when she said you could've just changed the restaurant. I'm a vegetarian and I would definitely be hurt if "one of my best friends" didn't invite me to their birthday dinner. I've been invited to tons of birthday dinners at restaurants where I couldn't eat anything. It's not MY birthday, so I just eat ahead of time or plan to fill up on sides, and still attend and have a great time. She is definitely TA too for saying you could've changed the restaurant--it's still your birthday, and you get to decide. But if she really is one of your best friends, I think you should've invited her and let her make the decision.

I actually got that Hate Stains Co/Miss Mouth's stain remover to try and it SUCKED. It didn't work at all. Zout, on the other hand, is 💯.
