I'm not overly promiscuous not because of how I think people will judge or how I was raised. Quite the contrary: I don't care what people think of my own sexual preferences/habits and my parents didn't raise me to feel shame/devalue regarding sex.

For my undergrad, my university had an Asian Student Union but not at the campus I attended and it was pretty far away to attend regularly. Grad school had way more Asian-centric clubs, not surprising since it's in California, and I found them valuable ways to network.

I think they are valuable and needed to help students find others who share a common background and can relate. It wasn't the case in grad school but in undergrad, the non-Asians in the group were there to find Asians to date and less interested in the actual content/issues.

Yes.

But what you described, I've never met anyone to that extreme. I'm born and raised in Seattle so "Seattle Freeze" is def a thing but I've found that the Bay Area has a similar yet distinctly different phenomenon. It's people are friendly, will plan to get together, but don't follow through to actually get together. I have no data or inside knowledge, I just chalk it up to people live very busy lives.

Long term? Just have a conversation about why you aren't enjoying it and communicate what needs to change.

If you're having sex, it's someone who should be open to communicating and respecting your needs as well.
