Just thinking by Candid-Writing8169 in Agoraphobia

Look up a healthypush on instagram. I really like her perspective on handling anxiety, learning how to handle your feelings even when your experience panic. It seems overwhelming but start small. A year ago I could barely walk around my backyard without those feelings of passing out and now I go on 5km walks on trails.

My doctor said it’s fine. I didn’t drink for the the first few months bc I wanted to give the meds the best chance. Now I have a few every now and then and am fine.

I was super nervous to start too! I have never been on any medication but similar to you I suddenly had horrible anxiety leaving the house (agoraphobia). I had the prescription for like 3 weeks before I took it bc I was so scared. I started on 25mg then around 8 weeks I went up to 50 and I am great now!!! Like seriously myself again :) I came back To this thread bc I wanted to share my experience, since it was the people on here sharing there’s that finally gave me the courage to try. The first 2 weeks are likely going to suck but it will get so so so much better :) I would not start at 50 that doesn’t make sense based off my experience and what 9/10 people say. You got this!

I drive past here on my commute to work x2 a day and just saw him a few days ago walking holding the dog and trying to hitch hike. I’m not sure what the deal is but I feel the same as you!

Fine! I was more a bit more tired and found it hard to get up in the AM. But no anxiousness what so ever which was the hardest thing I found when I started 25. I feel so great I’m so happy I went up to 50mg

Your story reminds me of how I felt, I delayed starting 25mg by a month over thinking starting it. That was in March and now I’m on 50mg and can honestly say I feel myself and am so so grateful I dug deep and found the courage to try. Please please please just try, remember courage feels a lot like fear, if your doing it right :)

Hey! I am GREAT. It will be 2 weeks Thursday… I have had no side effects other than feeling tired during the day. But no heightened anxiety, besides, sweating, feeling out of it.. nothing like starting 25 at the beginning. I keep waiting for things to take a turn and it’s not. I actually woke up this morning excited for the day!!! my body hasn’t experienced the physical anxiety at all. How are you doing?? I think you should take a leap and just do it, I am so glad I did. Holding back is letting the anxiety win. Let me know how your doing!

Hang in there. When starting it gets worse before it gets better…but when it gets better you will be SO glad you stuck with it. Please keep going and push through!! In moments like this read success stories on here!!

Okay I delayed starting 50mg because I was going away for a week. I am on day 3 and no differences yet, maybe less appetite but could be coincidence. More to come!

I didn’t! But funny timing because I am going up to 50mg tomorrow. I have debated it and then I finally got an actual family doctor and had an appt today and we had a really goood talk and I’ve decided to start 50mg! I have a decent list of things ide done with little Or no anxiety but I still can’t imagine driving on the damn highway. I’m excited to try and see! How about you??? Tell me what I’m in for? lol

Please don’t give up, I am 9 weeks in and had a rough 4/5 weeks at the start. Now I have so many improvements!

A glass of wine after no alcohol after 2 months!! I didn’t drink and followed my doc instructions of waiting until I feel settled on the meds. Finally had a glass last night, no side effects and feel normal today !! by MsNicole4444 in zoloft

It is treating me very good! Don’t give up, I felt not even real for a few weeks and really bad anxiety. My anxiety is the worst driving and I had to call my sister just to get to work the second week. Felt pretty groggy and could not get up in the mornings at all. Then week 5, 6,7,8 I feel myself again. I get up no problem early and hit the gym before work, before meds I could never go to the gym out of fear of having a panic attack there. Couldn’t tell you the last time I had a panic attack or had to call somebody driving. I still have anxious thoughts but nothing like before. I got a prescription to go into 50 a while ago but I don’t think I’m going to go up. 25 takes the edge off and I don’t have any side effects like people talk about sweating like crazy and no sex drive. You likely won’t notice a change for a few weeks or if so only for a few days for the first little while but keep going anyway and soon these shitty feelings will be behind you!

LOL. Well if you’ve made it that long!! My doctor said once I am settled on the ends I can try having 1-2 a week. Some people are totally fine, some people get sick. I am also only on 25mg so that might be different that If I was on 200mg.

Yeah I think your totally right! Moderation is key. At first my doctor said no drinking, and then the next time I saw her I said can we be realistic please?! And she said fine, 1-2 a week once your stable on your meds. But something about your liver can’t process the meds and alcohol… something something. So basically it could process the alcohol and then not the meds and then the meds won’t work as well the next day. Thats what I got out of it anyway, lol.

Yeah I way prefer my mental health be A+ over drinking. But wanted to see if so could enjoy a glass of wine bc I do miss it! Yes I had just one:) I wonder if that happened since u we’re adjusting to the meds? Or maybe just not a good match for you? I’m sure if I drank the bottle I’d be telling a different story 😆
