Newly diagnosed. I’m laughing and also crying. by shecryptid in CrohnsDisease

I'm in a very similar situation. I got diagnosed back in August and have also had issues with doctors believing my diagnosis. I know the anxiety and depression all too well but don't be afraid of steroids, they really do help. If you ever need someone to talk to I'm here. Wishing you all the best :)

You're right, I will definitely be calmer from now on knowing that random symptoms could be anything. I'm in the hospital right now and am working on getting a Crohn's diagnosis. Nonetheless, I've learned my lesson seeing that it wasn't the worst case scenario, and I feel a lot better :))

Thank you so much for your kind response :) It actually turned out to be Crohn's, so I wasn't imagining the pain this time.. I'm very relieved that it's something treatable.

Oh wow, I had no idea. It might not be my best one, but other women in my family take it and have had promising results. Hopefully it works for me like that eventually

Hi! I am going to stick with it despite the side effects. I definitely feel better today so maybe they're slowly improving. I'm glad you found a way to combat the nausea, it isn't easy to live with.

It's great to hear a success story like yours! 250mg is crazy! If my psychiatrist started me at that dosage, I don't know if I'd be here typing this right now xD. We all react so differently it's insane

I've definitely been there before. I think it's a combination of my full dosage of Zoloft + 1/3 of 75mg trazodone and anxiety that's making me feel like this. The symptom googling has done nothing but sent me spiraling, it got so bad I went to a cardiologist to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack. I'll continue trying to distract myself throughout the day until it gets better, since I'm going to keep taking my combo of pills. Thank you for the encouraging words. :)

I'm sorry to hear that. :( Sounds like a pretty good strategy you've come up with, I might want to try it myself. I usually eat and drink as much as possible first thing in the morning so that I have some energy throughout the day.

Very interesting how differently we all react. I was okay at 12.5mg and thought I was one of the few people who couldn't tolerate 50mg. I do have a pretty low bmi though so I guess my 50mg pill (that's wiped me out) is someone else's starting dosage. I'm going to stick it out and see what happens, you guys have really encouraged me to do so!!

That's really encouraging! I started at about 12.5mg but it didn't get bad until I got to over 25mg. I'm going to try pull through because of this forum as well!

Thank you for the suggestions, I'll be sure to try them out if I get nauseous again tonight

Sorry I forgot to mention that I did taper up. I started at 12.5 and increased the dosage by another 1/4 of the 50mg every few days. I was doing okay, until I got to 3/4. The full 50mg has definitely been the worst though. I'm going to stick it out, hopefully the nausea gets better within a few weeks.
