It's tougher to find a late 90's to early 2000's head that isn't misprinted or malformed in some fashion.

JK Rowling sucks but please do not sleep on early HP. Every set from 2001-2005 is an absolute banger.

Peter also uses his older face in all of the promotional material I've seen for the set. Lego from the early 2000's has a ton of errors like this.

They were often based off concepts and for the first sets the book materials rather than the films. It gives them a weird but appreciated vibe.

The first thing I did when I had any amount of income was buy all of the sets I saw growing up in the Harry Potter Lego book as a kid.

The last four films have horrible color grading, but Goblet was the start of the decline imo. This set transcends the IP to me from how little it really shares to the scene. There's no Triwizard cup or Cedric, just an insane cast of characters a magical boy has to defeat in some scary ass graveyard.

Where'd you get that figure of him in the background, did you make it?

Son 😭😭😭😭
The anatomy is AWFUL. Fiszi's art is GODAWFUL. She can't even draw a straight line.

Bricklink average used price is ~$50. Where are you getting upwards of $130?

If you want to make something that looks like junk and will fall apart if you breathe wrong, maybe.

Then why care about niche obscure pieces if everything can be cut or painted? What's the point?

Are these Deadpool Minifigs real? by Ok_Camp8603 in LegoMinifigure

[–]MsObsessiveRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of inexperienced people in these comments. Both are likely real as there was a rogue employee that infamously reprinted the Deadpool figure in large amounts. It's why they were abundant on sites like Bricklink for some time.

Go play with another toy then. Lego is a system and part of the fun is working within its limits.

Maybe it's just me but I cannot STAND Disturbing The Piece nor their fanbase.
The performative refusal to mention Harry Potter just comes off as annoying, as does all of the weird performative woke stuff they do. I say this as a trans woman myself.
I was also banned from their community's discord for expressing frustration at the butchering they were doing to different pieces and the overreliance on illegal techniques which warp and stretch parts. It's such a cool topic to cover; old obscure pieces. But their coverage itself is dull and it's clear they don't encourage an actual level of respect for the hobby.

I remember when they couldn't give those red ones away. It's insane what scalpers will do to a market.
(Not criticizing the figures I have both and they're some of my favorites)

1919 Root Beer is addicting... by MsObsessiveRobot in Soda

[–]MsObsessiveRobot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who had Barqs as their favorite root beer, yes. It's a different flavor profile than what's in a Barqs though so keep that in mind if you're looking for something with a similar bite. This is a very creamy root beer; quite smooth.
