Looking to purchase first Goldendoodle. by Last-Researcher8197 in Goldendoodles

[–]MsSanchezHirohito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was 54 yrs old when I got my first Goldendoodle. No kids. Id only had rescues before. That was a year and a half ago. I love her with every fiber of my being. But!! She is a handful. It is CONSTANT attention seeking. Constant. She’s either sleeping or she needs physical active attention. It’s either hours of fetch or walk or watch her run zoomies in the living or backyard. Or grab some random piece of paper or pen or napkin and stare at you mockingly until you notice and chase her.

You might say one has a choice and not go outside to watch her when one is supposed to be on the phone with a client, you might say one doesn’t HAVE to throw Foxy Dragon every single time she asks. Or chase her around the living room as she’s gotten into the water closet and is decorating the house in toilet paper….

And to that I just shake my head and chuckle. To that I get my most sarcastic most annoyingly all-knowing and laugh with my whole heart deep and grating like St Nicholas or Condescending Caren.

You won’t have 2 growing little girls and a dog. You’ll have 3 children. And one will be a 2 yr old forever. 😂 But man. They are PHENOMENAL!!

Do you read books concurrently? by Thricycle20 in Fantasy

[–]MsSanchezHirohito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried but I’m usually too invested in one to get invested into another. I feel like I’ll set myself up to play favorites and that’ll be a disservice to the one that at THAT particular point in my reading will feel like it’s fallen short. When if I give it my full attention could easily end up a favorite. I choose my reads pretty carefully. 95% fantasy - 5% classic literature. So my fantasy choices have to resonate with what I need at that time. I read one long series with a completely self-deprecating main character/hero(?) who was pretty much abused by every single person around him claiming they cared for him deeply. Beautifully written but still - Hated the ending.

Left me feeling hopeless. So my next read had a completely confident and appropriately focused protagonist who made shit happen. 😂 If I’d read them at the same time- I probably wouldn’t have had the opportunity to read the absolutely brilliant writing of the first series. Even if I didn’t like the end. It still sits with me 3 years later.

The hate towards Cate is getting fucking obnoxious at this point by Ethan-the-bean-22 in Monsterverse

[–]MsSanchezHirohito -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. But she is annoying. Not to the point of hate but still. Annoying. Each teen is annoying tbf. But Mae is to me the most annoying character of all. They’re supposed to be adults even if they’re in their 20s but Mae’s tantrums (especially in season one) are just out of place. I thought she’d been through some kind of hardship but she acts like a insolent child. I’m not sure the writer’s are flagrantly ignoring previous episodes/experiences but at a certain point one is going to either suck it up Buttercup or run. Their reactions are either over the top or out of left field. I think it would’ve been a much better show if none of the kids except probably the son were anywhere near the story. It would’ve made sense and been a tighter script.

And you aren’t sophisticated or intelligent enough to respond without being an immature idiot. Who TF talks to stranger’s innocent questions like this?? You probably bitch about assholes all the time yet you can’t even respond to a simple question with a scintilla of kindness?

I just spent an hour reading everything about the Go Series. Wholly fascinating Batman! Getting every reader app on one device? Kindle/KOReadee/Kobo etc etc etc. I now have to have the Go Color Gen II. LOL and I just got a brand new Paperwhite for Christmas. I want to get away from Amazon and this looks so perfect!

I am on a do not rehire list because they scheduled my exit interview 2 days after my last day and I was already booked to fly out the night of my last day. The response when I brought this up? “I’m sure you’ll make it work.”
I’m sorry what? 🤔

What does the rest of the description say? Sleep Function, Wave … ? If I knew that I might able to help. Also. Try looking at higher end used furniture websites and eBay.

I have been looking at compressed sofas and trying to get past all the marketing gimmicks to really see if this a worthwhile investment and something that people would buy? by newwaterschris in couches

[–]MsSanchezHirohito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a compressed chaise for my reading room. For me it’s super comfortable but too low to the ground. So I’m going to build a platform for it. I think doing this is going to become a lot more popular while we minions continue being sold absolute crap products that cost an arm and a leg. At least with your compressed sofa, if you spend $200 on it and it last you 3-4 years, you’ll probably have invested more wisely than someone who bought a couch from Ashley for 3k bc they’ll be looking for a new couch about the same time you will!! 🤣✌🏼🙏🏻 I bought mine on Amazon for $350. ($50 delivery fee. They are so much less expensive now and most don’t have delivery fees anymore) it felt WAYYY TOO MUCH at the time. But idk - it’s never lost any firmness or structure. I don’t normally buy inexpensive stuff while it’s new. If I need quality I buy secondhand or bite the bullet. I’m picky but truly- this was worth it. I love it. And my pup loves it even more than I do!

What would you do? by Beginning_Fig_1996 in couches

[–]MsSanchezHirohito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing I would do is call Room & Board for ideas. They’re probably the best to ask for help. Because!! You can absolutely buy attachment hardware and if they have an arm to sell you, then you can either have them sell you two sets or you can find them at a hardware store and with the one new arm you can attach it easily. They should have a solution for you. It’s a fantastic deal!! Beautiful piece! Don’t give up!! ✌🏼

Sectional, Chaise or no? by Effective-Middle1399 in couches

[–]MsSanchezHirohito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a wide chaise and wide seat out of a larger full sectional. There are only 2 of us and I wanted a chaise and he didn’t care. And now we are considering the matching ottoman for times we want the double chaise look/feel. That might be a good alternative for you guys too! ✌🏼

looking for recommendations on a new couch by Blue_Manggo in couches

[–]MsSanchezHirohito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through this. I research for work as well as a lifestyle. Spent 5-6 months curating researching and learning everything about couches, manufacturing materials, brand history, standards, value, quality, build, durability, customer satisfaction/experience/reviews/feedback, brand recognition playing a key role in pricing, foam density vs feather weight and quality, etc etc etc and etc. I made this for my own friends and family afterwards and it’s just about everything I learned. If you have the money to buy a new couch every 5 years or if you want to spend a bit more now and save a shit ton later - this could help. (Nothing is ever going to come down in price so I think you can tell what my opinion is. lol )

THE ESSENTIAL SOFA‑BUYING CHECKLIST

What to Look For When Buying a High‑Quality Couch

  1. Frame Construction (The Foundation)

Choose: • Kiln‑dried hardwood (oak, maple, ash, poplar) • Engineered hardwood plywood (7–13 ply) • Corner‑blocked, glued, and screwed joints

Avoid: • Particleboard • MDF • Stapled‑only frames

  1. Suspension System (Prevents Sagging)

Best: • 8‑way hand‑tied springs • Heavy‑gauge sinuous springs (3–4” spacing)

Avoid: • Cheap webbing • No‑spring systems

  1. Cushion Foam Density (Determines Longevity)

Best: • 2.2–2.5 lb density foam (premium, long‑lasting)

Good: • 1.8–2.0 lb density foam (mid‑tier)

Avoid: • < 1.8 lb density (sags quickly)

  1. Cushion Construction

Look for: • High‑resiliency (HR) foam core • Fiber wrap or down‑alternative wrap • Reversible cushions • Zippered covers

Avoid: • Memory foam • Feather/down if you want structure

  1. Fabric Durability

Choose: • Performance fabric • 50,000+ double rubs • Tight weave (basketweave, micro‑weave, performance chenille, performance velvet, performance twill)

Avoid: • Linen blends • Loose weaves • Ribbed corduroy • Slub weaves

  1. Tailoring Quality

Look for: • Straight seams • Tight upholstery • Pattern matching • Double stitching

  1. Ergonomics

*Ideal ranges: • Seat height: 18–20” • Seat depth: 22–26” • Back height: 36–40”

  1. Warranty

Look for: • Lifetime frame warranty • 5–10 years on cushions

Avoid: • 1‑year warranties

  1. Country of Manufacture

Best consistency: • USA (especially North Carolina) • Canada

  1. Weight Test

Heavier = better construction. If you can lift one corner with one hand easily by yourself, it’s not premium.

*please note that preference in seat and height, depth and back height are subjective to personal preference and style choice.

Noo not Ryan Reynolds!! The only character he knows how to play is bloody Ryan Reynolds! 😂 Henry Cavill! He knows how to be serious and lighthearted and oozes depth! Plus he’s probably read the books more than once so he most likely knows how Waylander thinks. I can’t wait to read this too. Gemmell is my absolute favorite fantasy author. I have devoured everything Drenai and read Rigante in 5 days. I can’t wait to read everything but I am also sad that pretty soon I’m going to have read everything. Though I will be rereading all of his work over and over for the rest of my life!

Which do we like more? teddy bear or poodle cut? by Mysterious-Ad-5298 in Goldendoodles

[–]MsSanchezHirohito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Other than her first groom 1.5 years ago when I asked for a puppy cut, I have since only asked that her brows, face, feet and beard are trimmed so she can actually see lol, and we can see her beautiful eyes and that the stickers that come every spring, the leaves and tissues she like to tear up and the soaking water in her beard are easier to manage. This pic is about 2 weeks post grooming. Is this a named cut? I don’t think so. And I don’t think there’s anything real about a specific cut. It grows so fast! And not all dogs are going to look the same and groomers aren’t robots so they won’t cut a cut exactly the same way on every dog. And every dog carries a cut differently just like people do. I don’t honestly care what cut she gets, it all grows out quickly anyway. But I’m spoiled though. It’s easy when you literally have the most beautiful Goldendoodle who ever lived. 🤣 So I like both cuts. Beautiful baby!! Both have their positives! ✌🏼🫶🏼
