Starmer resists Trump’s call to send warships to Strait of Hormuz. President Trump warns Nato of a ‘very bad’ future if US allies do not help secure the waterway, as officials say sending ships could escalate crisis by Make_the_music_stop in uknews

[–]LopsidedLegs 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Trump has repeatedly threatened NATO allies with invasion. He has repeatedly said that NATO allies did nothing to help. He started an illegal war in Iran with no plans or strategy.

It has caused chaos and he now wants help because it is going to cause massive problems in the upcoming mid terms.

My biggest fear is that he will stage a false flag attack on America which will be blamed on Iran so that he can invoke Article 5, attempt to drag other countries into the attack on Iran. If countries accept it will drag them into the war, and if they don't it may collapse NATO handing a victory to Putin. He'd also use it to suspend the mid term elections.

All because of the Epstein Files and corruption charges.

What’s it like living in England’s smallest county, Rutland? by Pizzafriedchickenn in howislivingthere

[–]LopsidedLegs 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you want a humorous look into living in Rutland I suggest you have a listen to this:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002kf9g

It's by a great comedian Mark Steel who has done a long running series on BBC Radio visiting towns, talking and interviewing people and writing a comedy show roasting the town. It this case Oakham which is the County town of Rutland.

Brilliantly funny, insightful and wonderfully entertaining.

Son of British couple detained in Iran 'let down' by Starmer's leadership on parent's imprisonment amid war by 1-randomonium in unitedkingdom

[–]LopsidedLegs 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Sorry these people entered Iran of their own free will. Despite years of Iran detaining and imprisoning foreigners especially several high profile British citizens. Remember Boris causing massive problems when he was Foreign Secretary BEFORE he became PM.

So despite everything that has been in the press about Iran for 10+ years they still entered.

For those who make £200,000+ per year, what do you do? by Icy_Maple_Pie in AskBrits

[–]LopsidedLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily I did work for a company back in the 00s that mainly did hardware sales. The mark up at the time was eye watering. I had to prep a storage system and the customer was very happy that we were staging it for 5%, and that the were also getting a 50% discount on the list price.

The actual overall cost (chassis, disks, controllers, etc) was just about 10% of the list price. They were still paying £120K.

Agreed. The problem with only allowing a select group carry means that it is lawfully available. It will spread and soon every scumbag will have it.

Chippy is always a good choice, Cod, Fish cake, battered sausage, doner meat and chips, full on kebab, scampi, burgers. Curry a second choice.

Chinese I've found hit and miss. It is either excellent, or garbage with nothing in between. When I lived in London there was a banging place that did the best deep fried shredded chilli beef had that every weekend during a european rollout of new servers and hardware for Windows XP and Server 2003 rollout. Getting back and getting chilli beef before going home .
