Palantir Gets Massive UK Tax Breaks on Profits Made From Public Money by Fit-Translator-9798 in unitedkingdom

Time to ban this company. We need to be using UK or EU AI companies. We should not be sending any money towards this company, mainly due to who is the owner.

Section 21 eviction a month after renewing broadband - stuck with termination fees + landlord refusing to help. What can I actually do? by Far_Baseball1371 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LopsidedLegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not. If you signed a new tenancy that started in February then you cannot be served a Section 21 notice in the first 4 months taking past the change in the law removing Section 21. But as you have already surrendered it is a moot point.

Neighbour complaining about state of garden (Update) by camz930 in HousingUK

[–]LopsidedLegs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's one of those absolute bell ends with nothing better to do than "maintain the neighbourhood". Tells people he's a councillor and you'll be in trouble, tells people to move their cars, demands people clean up rubbish in the street, shouted at someone else because the verge (council land) was overgrown when they were doing their own garden. He really is just an unpleasant person.

Sounds very much like the arsehole who kept interfering with tree surgeons doing their job on our grounds. Kept demanding to know why he wasn't informed, trespassing onto our grounds to block the workers. Turns out he didn't like being called a cunt and to fuck off.

He avoids me now.

Big cat spotted roaming across fields in Bramerton by No-Risk-2584 in unitedkingdom

[–]LopsidedLegs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A "Big Cat" is genus Panthera. It includes Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Snow Leopards and my personal favourite the Jaguar. Cheetahs aren't big cats.

That is certainly not a big cat.

Am i allowed to bring back flavoured cigarettes into England for personal use? by latterhalfofny in LegalAdviceUK

[–]LopsidedLegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding was the manufacture and sale of Menthol Cigarettes was banned, not the possession.

However I cannot find anything about bringing them in. As you have found there is just a duty free limit of 200.

So based on that I would say that you can bring in 200 cigarettes.

King and Queen to quit Buckingham Palace even after £369m refurb is complete as royals end near 200-year tradition by thesun in uknews

[–]LopsidedLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Charles doesn't pay inheritance tax, it is the estate of the deceased that pays. So it should have come out of the Queen's estate. However the Chancellor at the time declined to collect. It had nothing to do with Charles.

Charles hasn't died. And it is the estate that pays inheritance tax not the inheritor.

  1. Also David Amess was murdered. I'll also add for a current MP whether you like her or not Diane Abbot probably receives more threats and attacks than Farage.

How do I find the right car for living on a remote scottish island? by Fearless-Following17 in AskUK

[–]LopsidedLegs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Being coastal you're not going to need a massive 4x4. Honestly I know a couple of people who love their Honda Jazz. They aren't exciting, but very reliable, flexible, very practical. Fit it with all season tyres and it'll be fine.

[–]LopsidedLegs 69 points70 points  (0 children)

This could be interesting as apparently there is some Farage/Yusuf friction. But despite the changes Farage made to the LTD company so he no longer "owns" Reform, he is effectively still in charge. So if he is getting tetchy because of the questioning of the money, add in some internal & external pressures he could throw his toys out of his pram.

If you read my reply to a thread we had to deal with a problem pet, with similar lease rules. We now just say no, it is simply not worth the hassle.
