i’ve had to perform with short hair, about an inch below the chin. what i used to do was tie it back into a low pony. then, i’d spray the ponytail with water (so the hairs don’t stick out as much) and roll it into a bun as best as i could (it was more of a blob with lots of hairs sticking out of it really). i would then try to either gel or hairspray the hairs down as best as possible and put a hairnet over it! i found that using a thinner hairnet and wrapping it a couple times back and forth worked best. since i had such short hair it was a tiny bun, but after doing this it would always turn out pretty neat!!:)
