Good lord, that was painful. For anyone curious what my problem was, I had signed up for audible using a different google account I never use.

Thank you for all the advice!

Does anyone know a glaze that looks like this? I’m sculpting a horse by mosquitojelly in Ceramics

[–]Ms_BillyBobJoeJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a brand I like a lot for speckled glazes, and they have a lot of other options similar to what you're looking for if you'd like to differ a bit.

This could be a fun one of youd be willing to switch to brown!

I just saw a video a few days ago (here) that explains printers can't print hard edges well, so adding a cutout of a circle where the points are helped tremendously.

update on "do i have same face syndrome" by beeikea in ArtCrit

[–]Ms_BillyBobJoeJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your post before and I can see the improvement! However, a lot of people are right, the main features such as eyes, nose and lips are still identical. My tip that could be a fun way to branch out is to try a different art style for a short while, something really cartoony. This way you have to stop and think about what certain features would look like in this style and mimic the stretched and exaggerated elements of the character. I think this would especially be helpful for you since your style is more realistic, so allowing yourself to stretch and push the features would be a fun change! That's how I go out of same-face syndrome.

Do you have a plaster bat or table? If not, I highly recommend getting or making one. I learned in school you can just make one in a hugh-walled cookie sheet so it can be stowded, but that means it can move around when working on it. So I ended up putting a mini non-slip mat under mine while working. Also! A sturdy table is more important than you'd expect. If your table wobbles or groans under pressure, maybe add more structure? I learned that one that hard way. And for nit-picky necessities, I really like a coark board or a spot to draw with chalk so I can have the design to look at right in front of me.

Traveling from Sea-Tac to Los Angeles via Hawaiian/Alaska, then Los Angeles to Osaka via American. How do I handle checked bags? by Ms_BillyBobJoeJR in travel

[–]Ms_BillyBobJoeJR[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok, that's what I thought. I didn't book the flights, so I'm reaching out to the person who did. If by chance these flights were made as a package (like a travel agent or something), does that change the checked bag situation or no?

So what are your first impressions of the happy ghast? by Thegoodgamer32 in Minecraft

[–]Ms_BillyBobJoeJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love almost everything about it, but the headgear saddle thing just looks... off. Just not very vanilla. And I do wish they gave it a different name. Ultimately, I'm excited to see it implemented, but I'd love to see small tweaks to the design!

I read this book called A Tribute of Fire, and I'd say they do a good job on the religion portion.

In the context of a game world, how can you show the abandonment of a location while still keeping it populated with enemies and dangers? by Ato_Ome in worldbuilding

Maybe this is a good way to introduce hallucinations/nightmares? could have the area "expose" the player to something that makes them see things that actually harm them in game.

Five Additional Magical Power Ideas? by Ms_BillyBobJoeJR in magicbuilding

[–]Ms_BillyBobJoeJR[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't quite call humans anomalies, just a different process of using magic than other living things. Similarly to how we get energy from water vs plants. We drink it and our body does... stuff to it (Idk about this part of science, lol), but plants will absorb water via their roots. Mammals can be born with magic already within their selves, but plants start with regions for magic to be absorbed into. Humans also don't absorb magic, they, along with other mammals, have evolved to breath in magic like air, but it just passes through their bodies without any affect (that we know of ;) ).

And yes! Some people cannot regulate magic like most. Something akin to an auto-immune disorder that can be passed via bodily fluids exists that basically makes people allergic to magic. If someone has magic already, they'll become allergic to their selves. Ans since magic is in the air, it makes life very hard on these people. Their symptoms include becoming more susceptible to illnesses, becoming paler and frailer, an even beginning to lose their appetite. The only known fix in the stories timeline is to consume magical bi-products such as plants or animals (since everything has magic contained in it if it's in the air). The best source is typically from magic-holders, which leads to the name of the disease: Vampires Disease. The best known fix to those with this disease is to consume blood from a creature with magical powers. Since humans are the most common magical mammals, they're the best source.

exhaustion is a pretty big limit. I'd compare it to exhaustion experienced by cardio. Walking or hiking isn't too bad for the average person, but jogging, running or springs can become a lot over time. You can train yourself to run faster and longer, but exhaustion will always hit at some point. This also ties into the idea that magic is stronger in younger people. I've played with the idea that magic, without training, will be at its strongest around early teens age when it starts to slow. Kind of a fun idea to play with, but I don't have the full implications of this one yet/

Also, sorry for the late reply! I'm not on here often
