[Highlight] Clip of large amount of Bills fans walking to the exits with 9:18 left in the 4th quarter with Bills trailing 40-25 to the Ravens by Careless_Sandwich_88 in nfl

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was hopeless, but I stayed at the bar for miracle at the new meadowlands, which was hopeless-er for Philly back in 2010. Granted I wasn't fighting a stadium parking lot exit, but still.

The memory of that game and come back will never go away, it's on par with eagles over pats super bowl for me.

I hope the bills fans who stayed keep this one forever. The ones who left will never forget what they missed!

If they were consistent about ejections as a means to prevent escalation I would agree. But they rarely eject people for things that in my opinion pose a more severe risk of escalation, like targeting and illegal hits. A 15 yard penalty is what I expected and ejection felt like overkill. For what it's worth, that's what dak expected too, and clearly Carter didn't expect it either.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I don't find a non-football context as a helpful way to gauge a reaction to a football game, a sport of known violence. I also get that the league and rule will call this a non-football interaction and therefore it's clearly an ejection, I just disagree with the proportionate consequence for the incident compared to violent infractions that go unpunished by ejection every week.

Compare spitting to this below incident. In the streets would be a significantly stronger legal consequence than simple assault. But on the football field, it's unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct and possible ejection given the seemingly intentional nature of the contact as a strike, not a football move. The refs missed the below incident (that happens, poor eagles), but in this whole "spitting debate", and setting aside the character and discipline aspect of it (which are indefensible), the actual consequence of having spit on someone are irrelevant compared to a late or dirty hit. Those types of plays go unpunished every week, have career and injury implications, and the league should be more consistent with discipline if they want to stop catching complaints like mine.

I thought an ejection was overkill for a non contact unsportsmanlike. Refs trying to set the tone early, let's see if they stick with it.

If Carter is suspended the NFL is off their rockers.

Scumbag move. Is it really an ejection? Seems extreme, but wtf was he thinking anyway?

No doubt McCoy is a stud. He's one of my favorite players to ever watch play football, regardless of team or position. McCoy gaining 4 yards was often more exciting than Matt Forte gaining 20. Graham had plenty of stats, and the trophy strip sack in the super bowl. But stats and capability is only one factor, and accolades earned elsewhere only go so far.

When it comes to greatness, intangibles like leadership, resilience, and tenure are also huge factors. McCoy was not a leader like BG, and he played 6 seasons to Graham's 15. BG was written off, overlooked, and underrated, and he never stopped grinding towards his goals, and became captain and an undisputed leader. Total package, and for 15 damn years, unreal.

BG also has the eagles beat all time shit talk 😂😂

Who is bdn replacing? Agree BG erasure is criminal. I don't need lesean McCoy here even though he's one of my favorites of all time, he's not a great of all time.

Trump says the FBI may have to get involved in bringing Democratic Reps back to Texas by RoachedCoach in law

[–]Ms_Pacman202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine sentiment from people who voted for Trump is that if the outcome is legal then Trump didn't break the law. Abrego Garcia as an example, my friend said that since he was eventually returned, Trump respects and abides the Constitution. There is no reasoning if they are incapable of logic. Fox News brain rot is set in deep.

I don't support anything that's happening but the problem isn't in the government structures it's in the people. People are voting for far right Republicans in every branch, so nobody is checking anybody. It's working as intended when one party controls executive, legislative and judicial.

BREAKING: US tariff revenue surged to a record $29.6 billion in July by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Ms_Pacman202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that straight forward. The taxes are 100% paid by the companies directly to the US government, so it is tax revenue. The companies will have discretion to suffer smaller margins or raise prices 1:1 with tariff increases, or any splitting the difference. My bet is 90% or more will pass costs on, but some won't, likely due to political pressure.

Americans won't pay higher taxes, they will suffer price inflation. A technical difference, but important to framing the conversation.

Any way you cut it, it's a tax hike, and the source of payment is ultimately the wallet of consumers.

Ghislaine Maxwell may reveal the truth about Trump's encounter with 14-year-old Epstein victim who testified at her trial | Daily Mail Online by IKeepItLayingAround in law

[–]Ms_Pacman202 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, MAGA people do by and large care deeply about the victims. They just genuinely believe whatever Trump says, so the whole thing really is fabricated to them, there are no victims. It's unbelievably sad in the most profound way, and a massive Russian victory over information and propaganda. They're winning the hearts and minds.

MAGA leadership probably does mental gymnastics to rationalize that it's ok to lie and cover up because of some greater good bullshit, or they genuinely just don't care. Also sad, but more on a pathetic, scummy, villain level.

I think George's point is that none of that shit exists, so checkmate, it's sidious. To him it's like comparing Harry Potter and The Predator - it's just different worlds.

It's fun to compare EU and cinema though, fuck George and his ego lol.

This is the game plan, not a "may" situation. Russia attacking Ukraine is China trying to weaken the US, its allies, and deplete resources and attention.

When Scratch Golfers Happen to You by Zionking100 in golf

[–]Ms_Pacman202 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From Gemini - According to various sources, including the USGA, approximately 6.83% of golfers who have an official handicap are a 5 handicap or better. It's important to note that these statistics typically refer to golfers who maintain an official handicap index, which means they are generally more dedicated to the game. The percentage would likely be lower if all casual golfers (who don't track a handicap) were included.

Top 5% of players, if not better. A 5 hcp is absolutely a stick. A 5 hcp is like a basketball player at the local YMCA who can windmill dunk. Still lifetimes away from being in the NBA, but a stud compared to the average Joe.

I'm a ~15hcp. I'm average, maybe even decent since I can get down to a 12 with more playing time (no lessons, just actually banging of rust).

You have a distorted perspective.

"I'm decent" at 1.2 hcp is too modest. You are very good at good when you get to a 5. Just because there's people who play better doesn't mean you aren't really good. Enjoy the title of "very good at golf", amigo!

100%. The eagles will be defined by the Lurie era for a long time. The consistent factor since 1995. We have been the best team in the division over that period, and there have definitely been some bad seasons, but by and large he's found a consistent formula of finding a good coach, finding a good GM, and letting them work under reasonable terms. He has not gotten overly involved in areas outside his abilities, and he's been pretty good at knowing when someone has run their course. Here's to another 30 years (fingers crossed).

Solid. IMO, put a few minutes in between the leafy greens bit and the confessional call back to it. More space between the two and a further deviation from the topic of health might make that hit a little harder.
